I-130 Still Under Review After Interview – Can Pregnancy Help Expedite?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking to see if anyone has been in a similar situation and can share their experience.
My husband and I had our marriage-based immigration interview a little over a month ago, and our I-130 is still showing as “under review.” My husband also has a pending asylum case. He recently had his master hearing, but his attorney requested that it be postponed until September because we were expecting the I-130 to be approved before then.
Since the interview, I have found out that I am pregnant, and we are now wondering whether this could be a valid reason to request expedited processing of the I-130 with USCIS.
Has anyone successfully requested an expedite in a similar situation? If so, what reason did you use, what evidence did you submit, and was it approved?
Also, would it be helpful to upload proof of the pregnancy (such as a doctor’s letter or medical records) to our USCIS online account? If we upload additional evidence now, could it affect the case in any way, delay processing, or cause the case to be reviewed from the beginning again?
Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
