Looking for a small friend group!! 🫶

Hii guys!! I'm Charlotte, 18F, and looking to make some new friends around Chesterfield

I didn't really keep in touch with many people after school, so I'd love to meet some new people and have people to hang out with!!

A bit about me: I enjoy gaming a hell of a lot!! (Apex, Dead By Daylight, Phasmophobia, Valorant, etc!!) animals, art, horror movies. I'm also always up for grabbing a coffee, going for a walk, shopping, or just chatting. I'm mainly looking for people around my age (18-25) who are interested in making genuine friendships. Feel free to comment or shoot me a message 🫶

I've been playing VRChat for 6 years… and I still don't understand some people in this community

Hot take / unpopular opinion

I actually like the VRChat community most of the time… but some corners of it feel like I accidentally joined a cult!!

I don't know if I'm just server hopping wrong, but I keep running into:

  • straight up trolls whose entire personality is just being banned from everywhere else
  • people in their late 20s with no job, proudly announcing they don’t work because "it's not fun" while surviving purely on parental WiFi and hope
  • and people who think social interaction means immediately skipping to FBI behaviour

Some personal highlights:

One guy I met was 27, unemployed, and basically said working is "not fun" so he's just retired early via his mum's bank account

Another person (19) caught feelings for a 15 year old boy, left her boyfriend for them, then announced she was going to block him… which lasted about as long as my motivation on a sunday knowing i have work the next day

And then there's the "friends" you meet who act normal for about a day then hit you with questions like "do you have a toy?" and "do your nipples react to cold" LIKE IM SO SORRY!!??

ANYWAY, is this just my VRChat experience or are there actual decent people out there?
EDIT: I've definitely left out a lot of the story details otherwise this post would be taken down, so you can use your imagination or DM me to read the unfiltered version. I've also added a few more details BACK!!

What's your favourite VR game right now?

Minus the obvious answers like VRChat and Gorilla Tag... What's the game you've been addicted to lately?

Standalone or PCVR, anything counts!

I'll go first:
Echo VR!! 🥏

Echo VR has honestly stayed my favourite VR game of all time. Back in 2020-2023 I was OBSESSED with it, the competitiveness, the community… nothing else has really matched that feeling for me. Massive respect to the community for still keeping it alive too!!

Curious what everyone else is playing right now because I NEED more games to try!!

Helllooo! I need advice for this because I am so confused..

I used to have a Quest 2 (2020–2025) and absolutely loved it, but it finally died on me. Now I’m looking to get back into VR and can’t decide between the Quest 3 and Quest 3S.

My situation:

  • I’ve used VR before (Quest 2)
  • I have a decent PC (i9-12900K, RTX 3050 for now, upgrading soon)
  • I want to use PCVR and actually enjoy graphics
  • Sure, budget matters, but I can stretch if it's genuinely worth it

What I’m worried about:

  • Is the visual upgrade on the Quest 3 actually noticeable enough to justify the extra £200 to ish £300?
  • Does it make a big difference for PCVR specifically?

Sooo yeah! Be honest, If you have tried both, is the Quest 3 actually worth the extra money? Or should I save the cash and go 3S?
