Wow the information and also conflicting info on insulation is incredible. So here’s my question. 30x40 tube frame shop. Got a quote for closed cell spray foam. Couple variations on how we could do it like 1” for just ceiling, or entire thing. Or the same for the 2.” I honestly didn’t think it would be very affordable, but it’s not as much as I thought it would be. As far as foam board I think I can do a 2” foam board on the entire thing for around 2000$. Spray foam for the whole thing 1” which seems to be the comparable R value is around 5k. 10k for 2”. Im leaning towards 1” spray for the whole thing. Curious to get some opinions if that extra 3k is worth it for the air barrier and rigidity the spray gives, or if I’m not gonna shell out the 10 and get the 2” to not even fool with it and just use foam board.
