Checked out the Bauhaus reopening

Interested to see how it plays out. Beer quality seems roughly like it always was - fine, but nothing to write home about. They have 4 beers on tap at the moment. Each has a full strength option (5-6% ish), a session option (3% ish) and an N/A option (<0.5%). There are also seltzers, cocktails using the seltzer alcohol base (basically the neutral alcohol removed from other drinks), and "wine" (the quotes are on the menu), which I didn't ask about.

There is definitely a market for low and no abv drinks, but I have no idea if this will be the way to reach that market. I would describe it currently as "definitely not crowded" which is probably not the vibe you want on opening Saturday night.

The space is still excellent though.

Bull's Horn burger did not live up to the hype

Finally stopped in to try one. It was fine. Good, even. But given how many great burgers there are around town, I'm thrown by all of the hype.

The patty itself could've used a lot more crust, and the lettuce and sauce felt like they were trying for "upscale Big Mac".

Just thinking about what else is out there, it's not in my top 5 and maybe not my top 10 burgers. I'd definitely rather have:

-Private Sector Provisions (even though their burger is now only occasionally available and across the border)

- Burger Daddies

- Bebe Zito

- Dream Creamery

- Wells Roadside

- Angry Line Cook

- Parlour (usually, though I've had some underwhelming burgers from them too)

- Red Cow (same caveat as Parlour)

- Animales

Hell, even a Freddy's burger is usually better, IMO, than what I just had.

Like I said, it was good, but I'm not seeing why people are putting it above all the other excellent burgers that are around.

Did I miss something? Is there a particular burger that I should've tried? Did I just get a less-than-stellar one? Did I just have the wrong expectations?

Anoka-Hennepin school board deadlock leaves social studies lesson plans in limbo

Once again, the A-H school board is preventing teachers from doing their jobs. They did the same with science last year, leaving teachers scrambling to meet new standards without up-to-date materials. Now they're trying to argue that they can prevent teachers from teaching new social studies state standards.
