I will be riding the bus to school for the first time since elementary. I am expecting mostly freshmen like me and sophomores on the bus, as juniors and seniors are allowed to drive to school. I wanted to know if driving high schoolers is hard, or do they go on their phones/listen to music and be quiet the entire way home.
Do you "bid" for routes like how construction companies and trash haulers bid for city contracts? Or are you hand given routes?
Back In July I told you about the rats on Illinois Street and the surrounding area, and a few of you said there are rats on Carlisle St and in the West End as well. I did see someone putting up notices on front doors back in July, and there are less rats. There is also another rooster in the neighborhood on Pine Grove and Maryland street, and I saw a shrew on Illinois. Let me know if there are rats around North Front St after the Feast, or has the issue been contained.
I think my summer program bus driver may got in some big trouble today. On the way to my program, I saw this Ford Super Duty that said the company's name on it approach my bus at a red light. My bus is usually chaotic, kids standing while the bus was moving, and he blasts the music! It was the 2025 driver on the way home today, which makes me think, did the normal driver, I think his name is Joe get in trouble, and if the supervisor did not approach my bus, would Joe have taken me home today? Also want to know if higher-ups or company/district supervisors drive around the bus yard or around town where you drive.
I have rode the bus with Keep Back 100 Feet at least once all of my school years, and I am riding one of Reliable Buses Thomas C2's next year. If you work in Massachusetts, what company do you drive for?

I am starting the Academy of Honors next year at NBHS, with a whole new group of kids. My 2 good friends from Normandin are going to Voke, and I have to ride the bus to and from school. My two main safety questions are how often do fights break out during the school day (7:50-2:15), and will I have to stand on the bus? My mom filled out the bus registration the other day.
I start freshman year on August 31st, and I am in an honors program where all of my core classes are either Honors or Pre-AP level. My 2 good friends from junior high are going to vocational school, and the rest of the students from my 8th grade homeroom that are going to my public high school are girls I didn't bother talking to. I am also taking the bus to and from school. What should I expect, and when do I make new friends?

My family has had a rat problem on Illinois St for the past few years. It has really gotten worse this year, when my dad took a picture of a rat in blind daylight. There are 2 slum landlords on our street, one right next to our house. The other house has a roof that could collapse any minute, and the front yard looks ugly. There are also chickens and roosters in our neighborhood, which I believe is illegal to have roosters in the city. My mom spoke at the meeting at Pulaski last night, and she talked to Ian Abreu on the phone. My Grandma, who lives on Ohio Street has also seen rats in the area. If you have seen rats in different parts of the city please let me know. They are usually scavenging yards from Illinois to Appleton Street, along Metcalf Street up to Pine Grove.
I don't know if any of you have Wednesday trash, if Capitol Waste is still collecting bins for now until the contract winner is announced. If you see any other hauler besides Capitol collecting bins in the city please let me know as there is no announcement regarding the contract winner.
I am wondering when will yard waste pickup frequency be reduced with the new trash contract and cut night last week. We usually have yard waste that goes out every week in summer, and less often in spring and fall. I do not know who won the contract, or who bid as it is not public. We usually have weekly yard waste that goes out in summer, so when should I notify my parents about the switch to bi-weekly? Should I tell them after Mayor Mitchell announces the winner, so they are not left calling the hauler, or should I tell them now?
