This is the first panel that I’d ever hosted at NYCC. Hard to believe, given that I’ve been going for 11 years, and truthfully I’m so glad I did. I love Game of Thrones but I haven’t been watching much TV or movies in my free time because free time has been so limited and I’m not sure I would’ve sat down and watched A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms right away if this opportunity hadn’t come up. I read the book, I watched the show, and I feel in love with the story and these characters. Genuinely, what a good show this is. Wild that the first season is already wrapping up… and this moment was already so many months ago! Time waits for no man in Westeros!

Sad bonus story: I wasn’t allowed to bring that sword through security at the airport so it ended up in a bin at Newark airport, tragically. I should’ve shipped it but it’s super expensive given the shape of it and I thought I’d be able to check it in a bag but that was wildly priced, too. Took a chance since is was made of foam… nope. But the memory of being on stage with Ser Dunk, Egg, and the legend George RR Martin for this? No joust with TSA could take these moments from me!!
