Do I leave teaching as soon as possible or stick it out for this year?

6th year teacher here who is feeling burnt out. My first 4 years were at a high needs school with a lot of student behaviour issues. This led to me taking a job at a different school in an autism classroom. I didn’t last past a month there and ended up going on paid sick leave for 3 months. During that time I was exploring different career options but decided to keep pursuing teaching. I went on unpaid leave for the remainder of the year while subbing.

I took a job in an elementary school for this year…the students are pretty good but I am really feeling high anxiety from all of the extra admin stuff, paperwork, assessment, etc.

I’ve been getting teaching related nightmares fairly frequently and I always wake up with high anxiety. Sundays have been the absolute worst. My mood is negatively impacted and it is affecting my partner as well. I’m wondering if I should try to stick it out and hopefully things get better or if I should initiate a leave, while trying to transition to something else.

I (M33) feel like my GF’s (F27) family and friends hate me. How do I proceed from here?

I have been with my current girlfriend for about 3 years now. I have been told that I am a very personable and kind person from family members, coworkers, strangers, etc. With that being said, I feel like my girlfriend’s family doesn’t like me very much. It just seems like they disagree/criticize a lot of our decisions. They always take the pessimistic side on everything. Case in point, I spent a year researching a new car to get that is reliable and my gf and I enjoy driving. Once her family and best friends caught wind of this, they all started shit talking the decision saying that we can’t financially afford it (we are well off financially), picking apart different features of the vehicle, etc. I have a feeling that it wouldn’t have mattered what car we bought. It would have been criticized. Now I love my girlfriend but this is a big reason why I haven’t proposed yet. I’m just not sure how to proceed at this point.

Dangerous Driver Tuesday May 12 at 9:08-9:13 am on Parsons Road

In the time period of 9:08:913 am Black Mercedes Sedan (E Class?) was traveling northbound on Parsons Road. They ran a clear red light around the Cineplex Odeon. In this case, they were stopped at the red light and then just decided to go through it. Up ahead, about 30 seconds later on Parsons road northbound, An SUV changed lanes in front of them which upset them. They changed lanes beside the suv and then started moving their car closer to the suv, trying to run them off the road. This scared the suv to the point of almost stopping completely. This was to the left of the Edmonton Research and Development Park at around 9:11 or 9:12 am. Later on, about 1 minute later. I stopped at the red light off of Parsons Road and 23 Ave northbound and this dangerous Mercedes driver was in front of me. I quickly took a picture of their car at 9:13 am to report to police. He saw this and got out of his vehicle to confront me. He was threatening me and telling me to “Delete my video footage or else”. I felt endangered as he was coming toward my driver side window so I reversed (there was no one behind me) and then took a left at the green light. He hopped into his vehicle, made the left turn and then sped by me on 23rd ave, going at least 90 km/h in the 60 zone. He was shouting profanities when he drove past me and then exited 23rd ave going onto Gateway Boulevard/Calgary Trail North. The description of the individual is approximately 5 foot 10, dark features (middle eastern). Was wearing mostly black and white athletic clothing (sweatpants, t shirt). I told what happened to the police but unfortunately my photo was too fuzzy to make out the license plate. I’m sure a bunch of others encountered this lunatic as he was getting into conflicts with every car on the road.
