Found this gold mine in Richmond, BC, just south of Vancouver. Almost all of their neighbourhoods look like that. And they all look the same, must be built by McMansion Inc or something.
Originally when asking ChatGPT for this image I only wanted to ask for unlockable boots with higher movement speed.
But seeing the stats field in the image, I just thought about what could improve this game even more and remembered Icarus, where the player character's body has got special inventory slots for a helmet, chest armor, leg armor, boots and something else.
The critter spawns in Radiation Zone 1 (after World Engine) are quite strong. Also they become harder with increased distance from the lander.
It would be SO nice if we could craft and upgrade armor. Since there's unused slots at the Equipment Upgrade Station, I hope these are reserved for exactly this feature.
Equipment could just be an item in the normal inventory, that we can drag and drop into the character slots. There could be different kinds of upgrades/improvements, e.g. apply Heat Sheets/Shields for thermal resistance, an Infection Resistance Helmet (I know there's already LEMs for that) or some acid-resistant armor. By "resistant" I mean "damage-reducing". Boots that reduce Red Fern stickyness. Tier 1/2/3 boots with 10/15/25% increased movement speed and jump height.
Of course, in a fight, some gear could take damage and would have to be repaired. If it got irrepairably destroyed, we still could analyze it for some data points or drop it into the Recycler.
