Finally I Made It 😮💨
I am feeling happy. I am proud of moving to Codeberg. Even, if my code is not beneficial for others, I don't want microslop to generate revenue by monetizing my code and training of copilot. I OWN my coding style.

Idk, but how much marks would give me out of 10.
Starting with NixOS the right way has never been that easier. Installing NixOS and then starting with flakes and wiring up things is one side of the job, but there comes a dilemma that every beginner faces i-e Configuration Patterns; or more specifically choosing between den/denful or hercules-ci/flake-parts, and on top of that, debugging the abstracted errors is another level of hit and trial session.
So to address that issue, I built Nucleus, a lightweight, abstraction-free NixOS configuration architecture for personal systems (1–10 machines) inspired by the dendritic pattern. It eliminates ~80% of the initial setup friction while keeping configurations completely native to NixOS.
Nucleus gets you started with flakes, home-manager, disko, nixos-facter and import-tree (just for recursively importing) from day one and lets you build your config on top of it. It does not include any abstractions, hidden machinery or whatsoever. It is 100% pure nix.
Nucleus organizes your configuration into three distinct layers:
common/ — Essential settings shared across every host (core base packages, security, and Disko layouts).features/ — Optional, modular capabilities you toggle per host (Home Manager dotfiles, GNOME, or KDE Plasma 6 desktop stacks).hosts/ — Isolated machine definitions storing hardware-specific configurations without cross-polluting shared code.import-tree for seamless, recursion-safe module imports.nixos-facter to generate exact, reproducible JSON hardware specifications directly into each host module.nh (nix-helper).You initialize via nix flake init -t ..., configure ~5 variables in flake.nix (passwords, host, disk path), run Disko, and run nixos-install .... No custom DSLs, wrappers, or framework lock-in.
One little request: Do star my repository if you find my work useful.
BONUS: Some mermaid diagrams are also attached that demonstrates single host and multi-host scenarios.

That stutter was due to high cpu usage as my cpu is weak.
As AI advances in coding and mathematics, I am tending to feel that the difference between coding and real engineering is getting negligible day by day. For extra context, I am a CS major and currently studying in a university that is not recognized outside of this country and I guess even not recognized in big startups of Pakistan. (You guessed it right, if you are from KP (Mardan especially))
Pretty much the title, see the attached time table.
Has anyone used it, I am a Niri user, that just switched to hyprland because of some apps bypassing window rules and also most no native monitor mirroring, there is new wm in town developed by noctalia shell team called "Umbriel", what are your thoughts, Is anyone using it for doing their daily work ? I am personally sticking to hyprland because of its stability due to lua upgrade.
Pretty usable setup, minimally aesthetic.

Hey everyone,
I’m setting up my daily workflow for medium-frequency quant research and evaluating Jupyter vs. Quarto.
Jupyter is useful for quick experiments, data exploration, and charts, but notebook files can be harder to manage in Git, review, and convert into clean research reports.
Quarto is attractive because:
Files are plain text (qmd or Python files), making Git diffs and code reviews cleaner. (In future).
You can still run cells interactively through VS Code/Positron.
It supports both Python and R.
It can generate polished HTML/PDF reports and chartbooks.
It allows a clearer separation between exploratory work and final presentation.
I’m planning to run a poll to understand how others structure their workflows for prototyping and reporting in medium-frequency systeremmatic research.
Thanks!
I made my own NixOS configuration architecture after ~46 days of learning NixOS.
A simple modular structure for people who want a reproducible system and want to focus on their actual work instead of overengineering their config.
Features:
- Flakes
- Modular configuration
- Host separation
- Home Manager
- Disko support

Feedbacks are welcome.
I am very happy to announce that I successfully contributed to tinted-theming/schemes on github with a new colorscheme.
The attached screenshot shows the colorscheme.

Made with Nix in NixOS using the Noctalia v5.
These days gemini ai behave very oddly, it used to be very good but from yesterday it started behaving like a lazy worker that just wastes your time (and tokens in this context too), don't do the work as described and guided. It has been yapping since yesterday.... I thought that must be some technical issue but i think i am being mocked by Gemini and all this is intentional. For more information see the attached screen record captured a few minutes ago.
I don't use flake-parts or the dendritic pattern. I am managing my one machine, that I use for daily driving. The output of `tree` in my dotfiles repo is attached, moreover I wanna ask from you guys that Am I DOING SOMETHING WRONG IF I AM NOT ADAPTING MY DOTFILES/FLAKE TO DENDRITIC PATTERN WITH FLAKE-PARTS ? I am a C++ programmer and I like the header file approach (like importing files directly using the relative path). My NixOS experience is 3 weeks. I was an Arch Linux user first.
As a long time arch user, I switched to NixOS and now recreating my arch config in nix and I am almost done but nvim remains, now I want to know that which should I use NVF or NixVim?
I wanna know about any Linux users in Pakistan, especially those doing bscs from Universities right now .... Drop the distros that you use alongside your programme and university and optionally age and gender... WSL2 is not a distro.... So stay off.. Dual booters and committed people only....
Can I assume we all have a development background.... ? And yeah I use NixOS btw
Pretty much the title say it 😂
