Feeling bad about my ability to exercise
I have congenital hip dysplasia, but I wasn’t diagnosed until my parents got concerned with how I started walking, so I was already diagnosed a little late. When o was diagnosed the doctor that had diagnosed me told my parents that I would “grow out of it,” so nobody ever bothered to attempt to treat me. I’m now almost 17 with my hips getting worse everyday because they were never taken care of. When I was younger I was able to run and play fairly easily, but gradually the pain and discomfort got so bad just walking around school is near agonizing. I’ve been living a very sedentary lifestyle for most of my life because of this which I’ve always felt really bad for. Right now I’m currently in a health class, so I’ve been hearing a lot about how bad a sedentary lifestyle is. I’ve started becoming very insecure in my ability to exercise and move in general and I think I just need other people like me to help validate me a little.
