I found a ThinkPad T42 in pretty good condition and I’m thinking of getting it mainly for OpenBSD in console/TTY mode so no desktop, just vim/tmux for distraction-free writing.
Does anyone here use a T42 with OpenBSD? How’s the hardware support these days? Anything I should watch out for?
Recently picked up an Olympus E-M5 II. I zone focus almost everything for street photography. On my film bodies (Nikon FM2/EM) I just set f/8 and shoot, and on the Ricoh GR, "snap focus" was effortless.
(I loved the GR, but left it because I needed a viewfinder and interchangeable lenses).
Now I’m trying to find the perfect 24mm or 28mm equivalent setup for MFT that lets me shoot blind without constantly checking focus peaking.
The Olympus 12mm f/2.0 seems ideal because of the manual focus clutch, but I've read the focus-by-wire scale can be inaccurate. Because of this, I’m heavily considering fully manual third-party glass with real, mechanical hard stops.
