Question about 1x30
I’m new to knife making and I recently bought a Vevor 1x30 grinder. It comes with a flat plate and a larger rubber wheel to choose between at the “business end.” When would I use the rubber wheel, what’s its purpose?

My associate just came back from the FNDC meeting and brought back a sample of Evanesce Bulk Cure composite by Clinician’s Choice. He claims it to be virtually shrinkage free due to silanating of the filler material and that it is dual cured. He also said you don’t have to cap it with another composite, that it’s wear strength is good. I looked on their website and can’t find any hard data about it. Does anyone have experience with it?
I’m new to knife making so I’ve watched a lot of You Tube videos trying to learn. One thing I’m still pretty confused about is plunge lines. Are plunge lines something you purposefully make and then use as a guide when making your bevels or are they something that are just a natural outcome of making your bevels? I don’t know if I phrased this where it makes sense. Some videos make it look like a knife maker makes bevels and then the plunge line is just there afterwards and some show the maker using a file to make them and then doing the bevel.
