This is how the first poppies I have got to flower are getting on

And only the ones on the corner seem to be finishing the other two greener ones the pods just seem to be getting bigger each day. I stopped watering them over two weeks ago. They have had a couple of showers witch I thought was going to damage them but they keep kicking on I'm not complaining tho I'm buzzing they are the first ones I've got from seed to bulb at the 3rd year of trying I was treating them like they were normal flowers there not like. There's not much I haven't grown over the years but poppies surprised me how they can be so delicat when little and so resilient once established.

I managed to get some seeds from that big bloom I came across

But someone beat me to the biggest Pods close to the fence but I still managed to get a couple from each type even if they were smaller I still managed to get a lot of seeds. I'm going to leave the ones where the tops haven't opened yet and see if they do before cutting them. The biggest pod I got was nothing some that where further away had pods that were 4 times the size and over 10 per plant I hope they take next year because I would love a bloom like that

It's mad the ones closest to the other plants are thriving but the ones in full sun by themselves are struggling

I think it's because the Lilly's are taking most of the nutrients near them and the other ones can't seem to handle it and I've only gave the Lilly's some bloom feed once a couple of weeks ago and the poppies didn't like it so I haven't fed them since and both are doing well except for the ones that are standing alone it's baffling

The lady's have been loving the sunshine

I've been logged out of Reddit and just got it sorted now. Here's how my girls have been getting on. Will the pods keep growing as long as they can before the plant dies ? Are will they just grow to a set size depending on what strain they are

Can anyone id witch type of poppies these are

I thought they would take a while but someone said when they bolt they take of and they do two weeks ago they were still hugging the ground

Hopefully this heat won't affect them their just about to pop

Even the small ones are putting out flowers. 3rd year of trying to grow them and there's not much I can't grow but poppies kept dieing because I was trying to hard. If the soil is sound then leave them alone as much as possible and they will take care of themselves

Last time I looked at them I was hoping to get one multiple headed

I left them to themselves and they have taken off their is even smaller ones I hope will pop up later. But I'm buzzing with how many flowers they have put out

That patch a week on and more flowers keep appearing

Even though there's pods everywhere the flowers keep coming. I will be getting a couple of pods when they ripened next to the fence and sew them before the winter for next year I wouldn't mind a small patch like that next summer

Look at this gem of a garden I came across taken a shot cut

Took a short cut to me dad's and had to stop and get a few pictures the amount of plants with multiple flowers was amazing

Mine seem to be growing a lot better now I've left them alone

I was adding extra water and feed thinking the Lilly's would out compete them but then they started to stress out on me and the more I fussed about with them more would die on me so I just went back to just watering the Lilly's when it's hot and dry and I only give them a feed once a week mainly for the micronutrients as the soil has plenty of NPK

Look at this gem of a find growing by themselves on waste land

I wish they would grow like that for me. If they are growing like that by themselves I'm going to get a few different pods from each different type. For next year if they grow there I should have no worries

They look a lot better

The last one has just shot up I just noticed it taking the picture. the biggest one has put on a lot can you get multiple flowers on one plant haven't grown poppies before is the plant storing as much energy as possible before flowering to produce as many as possible?
