Tips for PSHS Student Applying for Japanese Universities

I'm currently an incoming Grade 12 student at Philippine Science High School (Main Campus), and I've been interested in studying in Japan for a while now. I'd like to hear some experiences, tips, or suggestions about similar situations to mine going into app season.

Right now, my Grade 11 GWA is at 1.200 ish (earlier years range from 1.4-1.3, G11 is my best performance so far). My SAT is looking to be around 1500 (hopeful), might take EJU in Nov-Dec. JLPT N5 certified. ECs include exchange programs, student and org leadership roles, and currently a Physics and Debate varsity member. No real competitions on my record though, only a national debate competition octofinalist award.

My top choices right now are Nagoya University (G30) and Kyoto University (iUP), taking AutoMech and CivilEngg/EnggSci respectively. I've read up on most surface-level info about applying (acads/grades prio, course choices, etc), so more niche/relevant knowledge would be extra helpful.

My preparation so far has been chill, but my gauge of whether or not I'd be a competitive applicant has been fluctuating over the past few months, so I'd like to know your experiences, even if not fully applicable, especially for Japanese unviersities. Also, how generous are they usually with scholarships?

I'd like to know more about the PSHS angle, as many sources online come from non-Sci HS angles, and I wanna know if I have a good shot. Thanks in advance, any input is greatly appreciated.
