2 Years Later Photos

I thought I could add these later to my original post - but apparently not. These are photos 2 years post-surgery.

1 & 2 are left

3 & 4 are right, the side that had openings. the circled areas are healing burns from a malfunctioning heating pad, not related to the reduction. The scar on this side is just a bit thicker in some places than the other side. I'm really, really impressed with how well this side healed. Now if I can just stop injuring it.

Link back to original post for context.

Before & After and Thoughts 2 Years Later

Trigger warning: there are some photos of splits in stitches further along.

Edited to Add: I didn't realize I can't add additional photos later! And I can't add them to comments because they're NSFW. Photos of the results 2 years post-op are here!

Hi - I lurked here a ton pre-surgery and always meant to come back and share photos. I'm happy to answer any questions people have. This surgery was 2 years ago now.

Before surgery I had decreased nipple sensation due to how stretched out they were - now I have almost none.

I caused the split in my stitches - I did not follow the doctor's weight limit (did you know a gallon of milk is more than 5 lbs? I didn't), and I'm right-handed, so that was the side under strain. The split also happened around the time my stitches started to dissolve. I think maybe I prefer non-dissolving stitches so that the two sides could be held together until the connection is a little more stable.

In between photos 8 and 9 I had a visit with my plastic surgeon. He touched what look like long matches to the split areas. I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't hurt (the area was numb), and it re-started the healing in those areas, which overall had slowed down since the surgery.

I initially wanted the surgery due to hunching over. This didn't fix that. I did do physical therapy for the pain/hunch before surgery, and that was working - so I highly recommend that. But my connective tissues are a little overly loose, so that's me. It DID help with upper back/neck pain.

For some reason I thought this surgery would help with my boobs being wide-set? I think I thought that was due to how much tissue there was. It wasn't. My doctor did do some liposuction on the sides, so they're less wide-set than they would be otherwise. But I just have wide-set boobs - so I still wear the same style bra as before, but in smaller (and cheaper) sizes.

I am so, so, so happy I did this. Truly, that first day I was up to trying on some shirts was pure euphoria. Now most clothes fit the way they should, which is a huge relief. I was able to wear a strapless bra that actually worked at my wedding! I can wear clothes with deeper necklines without showing my bra! Sometimes thinking about it, I still get a small bit of that euphoria. Every now and then I try on a shirt that my new breasts are too big for, which just makes me laugh.

They still look like photos 12 & 13, but the scars are fading now, so they're less obvious. They're really pretty minimal at this point.

Mostly I would say - don't have your heart set on any exact picture-perfect image. This was my second plastic surgery. I had a tumor removed 16 years ago, and for some reason that was done by a plastic surgeon, who seriously messed up to the point where I needed a scar revision. (That's a whole different story). I was just hoping for no issues like that, and boobs small enough to buy like, $25 bras. And I got that. My new boobs aren't perfect - mostly because of the splits I accidentally caused. But they are worlds better than what I had before.

My surgeon was Dr. Ghaznavi at AMG Plastic Surgery in Herndon, Virginia. I highly recommend him.

The previous plastic surgeon I saw was Dr. Davison at DaVinci Plastic Surgery in Washington, DC. I highly recommend avoiding him.

1 & 2: 2 days pre-surgery, size 36N

3 & 4: 8 days post-surgery

5 - 8: 23 days post-surgery; you can see where my stitches split

9 - 10: 46 days post-surgery, 17 days post dr. visit re-starting healing where the splits were

11: 55 days post-surgery

12 & 13: 92 days post surgery, size 40D/DD (I have no idea why the nipples look uneven here, they're very very slightly uneven, but not that much! Photo 5 is more accurate.)

I've had several surgeries and procedures, and spent more than my fair share of time in hospitals. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Basically I'm asking about what the title says.

I was diagnosed with AGA 8-ish years ago.

Right now I take Spironolactone and oral Minoxidil. (Sorry if I misspelled either of those) My wife and I are planning on starting fertility treatments in a couple of months (yay! so excited!).

I'm really scared to see what my hair situation will look like when I stop taking the hair loss meds. Both my primary and dermatologist have reassured me that during pregnancy the hair will come back, but have no advice for the time between stopping the meds & getting pregnant (or not getting pregnant & getting back on the meds). I will be off the meds for at least 2 months.

There were two weeks recently when we thought I'd be starting in a month, so I halved one of the two pills, following my primary's instructions to slowly step down the meds. It was already noticeable, at least to me.

Does anyone have advice for pregnancy-safe treatment of hair loss? Or commiseration? Or advice for where to find good hair toppers/similar products? My loss is most visible at my hairline, but it's thinned all over.
