Best FDA-approved drugs of all time? I nominate: Desbutal, a combination of 5mg methamphetamine and 30mg pentobarbital. FDA speedball.

> ball in FDA speedball

Back when big pharma made good shit, the Food and Drug Administration stamped approval for a combo of stimulant and depressant. A delicate mix of the highest quality methamphetamine and boozy bubbly pentobarbital. If the standard 30mg of the pentobarbital was too light, there were versions with 60mg or 90mg.

Barbiturates may sound familiar? They're really euphoric but really easy to overdose on.
Marilyn Monroe, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Epstein of the Beatles, to name a few tragedies.

Barbiturates have been widely used in euthanasia, famously by the writer Arthur Koestler and his wife. A leader of the Voluntary Euthanasia Society, Koestler believed in the right to die with dignity.

According to this study, at very high doses 400mg pentobarbital ~ 200mg diazepam. That's from the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics which I admit is a low quality source for this sub (which usually requires r/Goblin peer-review). But recreationally the classes can't be compared.

Pentobarbital is more intoxicating as unlike diazepam, it doesn't depend on endogenous GABA ultimately. It opens the GABA-A receptors for up to 9x longer, with cascading CNS effects. The higher the dose, the less endogenous GABA matters. For diazepam there's a ceiling limited by endogenous GABA. Barbiturates are far more euphoric than benzos, they affect duration vs frequency of GABA receptor opening. You would likely more of a "hit" from barbiturates, fast muscle relaxation, loss of coordination, sedative bliss, disinhibition... it's like a laundry list of effects recreational users desire.

If you miscalculate your dose, mis-time your re-dose, combine different barbiturates or add CNS depressants like alcohol, even 'moderately', you could be at the brink of death in a flash.

> birth of benzos

Benzos were created as a response because they're more profitable than barbiturates and also people are too flawed to use barbiturates safely. The margin for error is narrow. If r/bartards blacked out for days to find their stash "stolen", I don't want to imagine a barbiturate equivalent.

GHB is already banned for notoriety in clubs like Berghain because it has a comparably narrow margin of catastrophe. I was surprised to learn that in the Neuropsychopharmacology journal, pentobarbital was rated more euphoric and subjectively reinforcing than fucking GHB!

Pentobarbital makes them GABA-A receptors go brrrrrr. Valium (the original branded diazepam) is smooth as the increased frequency of channel opening eventually exhausts itself when GABA depletes. Compare that to the rush of how GABA-A receptors open for long periods on pentobarbital, sending signals of disinhibition throughout the body, speedily unlimited by GABA.

With a greatly reduced overdose risk, big pharma could move truckloads of the freshly patented Valium, which was the best selling medication in the USA in the 1970's. Generic diazepam only appeared in the mid 80's. In terms of withdrawal, benzos are better (thanks FDA!), as barbiturates can cause grand mal seizures in mere days. If we know that benzo withdrawal exceeds opioid hell, imagine the barbiturate state of withdrawal...

Oh, I almost forgot the Desbutal product contained meth. Desoxyn, the purest FDA quality meth, is >3x-5x the potency of Adderall^, depending on how potency is measured.

Adderall was originally derived from a 1950's weight loss drug Obetrol (the one that gave housewives psychosis). Shuffle the the amphetamine salts around, remove methamphetamine, and voilá Adderall IR was born in the 90's for "ADD". And marketed to children. To protect Adderall from generics big pharma patented a new release mechanism, Adderall XR. When XR generics emerged, they were swallowed up. Big pharma hit the jackpot with Vyvanse. Not another release mechanism, but a new pro-dug patent to milk. Until generics came to market 3 years ago, Vyvanse could cost $5000 per year without insurance in the USA.

Adderall is three quarters d-amphetamine, one quarter l-amphetamine. Desoxyn is twice as potent as d-amphetamine. The remaining 1/4 l-amphetamine salt in Adderall only releases as little as a tenth of the dopamine of d-amphetamine. In terms of pure euphoria the d-amphetamine could approach ~>1.5-2x potency of Adderall in contexts of euphoria/IV recreation. Overall, Desoxyn is probably closer to five times as potent as Addy.

^(^Dextroamphetamine is superior to Adderall, in terms of cognition) ^(and) ^(euphoria. L-amphetamine intentionally hits norepinephrine so that dopamine doesn't drop too fast and overall duration is extended. It creates restlessness. D-amphetamine directly enhances working memory and focused decision-making. The flood of dopamine causes beautiful pyramidal neural synchrony: Massive waves of activity that close a loop in the cortex/striatum. This loop is conditioned to limit undistracted concentration on certain signal vs. noise. The result of closing a loop like this is a flash of new connections between synapses!)

> McAfee's MDPV munition motivation

McAfee whispers from the vape: build your own lab

let's go full John McAfee mode on patents, since this sub has more knowledgeable people than r/drugnerds + r/researchchemicals + especially r/medicine (but not r/salvia).

the loophole that led to Adderall's creation from an old "diet" tablet taken off the market needs to be appreciated. until 1962 a drug could be "grandfathered" and sold openly provided it didn't lead to immediate death. Zero need to prove effectiveness or justify specific claims.

uj/ Outjerked by the FDA. As usual.

Contrary to misconception, McAfee didn't manufacture anything illegal in Belize. His lab acquired legal MDPV from clandestine Chinese chemists, and then performed all kinds of alchemical magic to wash, purify, recrystallise, and transform the substance into pure potent potions and vapours.

MDPV has 5-10x the dopaminergic potency of the purest FDA meth. McAfee was (is?) up to something. On Bluelight he wrote some unhinged stuff, but here's some sound harm reduction advice from the man himself:

>Do not eyeball this substance. If you do, you will end up in a hell that you cannot imagine. A fraction of a milligram is the difference between pure bliss and total psychosis.

The science of methmaxxing ('they' don't want you to hear this!) and why GLPs are mind-control drugs.

>^(Desoxyn Gradumet ad from early 1960's, an extended release methamphetamine. The 5 to 15mg dosage range hardly seems more extreme than the Adderall doses given to kids aged 6-12, btw often IR). ^(The weird part is this ad was made for doctors and medical journals. I can't even out-jerk that.)

Methmaxxing is the real deal

Look at the studies on Desoxyn (FDA meth) and obesity, as all good science should be it's sponsored by the same pharma companies producing it.

Street meth in the USA usually has good purity, but impure batches could land you with toxic MSM and ISO cuts to mimic shards. Or crystallised wasp-killer shards if you're unlucky in Appalachia.

Desoxyn is pure FDA meth that lets you keep worsen your addictions while looksmaxxing.

GLP mind-control

Fuck Ozempic and GLPs.
Since when are some drinks, gambling you can quit anytime, compulsive boofing of MDPV like John McAfee, and casually spreading political extremism, considered a problem?
Everything in moderation.
The masses in Aldous Huxley's book Brave New World said "a gramme is better than a damn". That seems closer to wtf Retatrutide does to metabolic cravings, compared to how LSD turns on, tunes in... (I forgot the rest because it reads like a postcard, sorry Tim Leary).

Pharma-grade methamphetamine is what the Germans used for Blietzkrieg. The Nazi meth pill Pervitin had the nickname Hermann-Göring-Pillen. You don't need to be a peptide biohacker with a 99.9% sleep score if you never sleep.

I'm sure FDA meth would be enough for you to achieve your goals !

FDA approved speedball

Meth and barbiturates go together like horse and carriage.

Blood, Sweat & Tears, Richard Nixon's rockstars who toured the Iron Curtain (out-jerked yet again), sang:

>What goes up must come down / Spinnin' wheel gotta go 'round

Desbutal (meth + pentobarbital) is a throw back to when big pharma made genuinely good shit. FDA-approved, only until Valium and other benzos came along tbh as more profitable.

Freud > Hunter Biden

There's pros, and then there's masters of the craft.

Hunter Biden is a pro, there's no doubt about it. He never carelessly left his stash around the White House. He understood that there's no need to smoke meth if you're rich. You can just keep smokin' crack because, well, you're rich. He's a public gooner on social media. He's a pro, for sure.

But let's consider Sigmund Freud. That man is a different beast altogether and should be the sub's mascot.

Your best friends are all morphine addicted academics huffing that authentic 19th century "we don't know why the fuck this is happening" opium. Addiction before addiction was understood, with some cool opioid-entranced poems by Coleridge sprinkled in.

Imagine the diarrhea in the bathrooms of those weird Vienna psychiatric institutes or wherever.

So what do you do? You get your morphine addicted friends all coked up. And they all miraculously recover. For a while. And you're only 28 years old when you write the masterpiece called Über Coca. Oh, and that's your first book.

Your first publication as the most famous psychologist ever was literally praising cocaine, and r/drugscirclejerk -- your one opportunity to be appreciated properly unlike the ghastly normies in r/psychology & r/Psychiatry -- doesn't even consider you as the mascot?!

And in this coke-fueled love song to cocaine, you drop a hint it could be used in anaesthesia. So your buddy Carl Koller goes along and discovers local anaesthesia using cocaine for an eye procedure. That's a fact, cocaine discovered local anaesthesia.

Best not ask what happened to the 'recovered' morphine addicts, just like we have the decency not to ask Hunter why he goons under his real name on X. Some things are better left unasked.
