Chillingham Castle is aptly named and located in Northumberland, NE England, near where I grew up. It has the highest number of reported paranormal phenomena in Europe. There are many stories associated with it and corroborated by multiple witnesses across time.

I went there in 2018 and explored the castle and grounds, and had one experience which may have been paranormal and may have been a trick of the eye, I don't know :')

I was standing in the doorway of one room looking at the window opposite, and the energy on that threshold I described as sort of prickly? Like I wasn't scared but I was alert and felt observed. After a few mins, out of the corner of my eye I saw a grey shadow shape about 3ft tall moving towards me diagonally. It was going across the floor low down and when I looked at it head on expecting to see a kid or a dog or something (??) it wasn't there. The energy stayed sort of watchful and I felt pretty nervous (I was only 16) so I went back down the corridor to the main hallway, which felt less oppressive. Idk what to make of it all but thought I'd share.

Anyway my main question is: has anyone done an overnight vigil at Chillingham Castle? What was it like and did you witness anything?

I thought someone would already have posted about this, but it appears not and seems like a good description of a crawler encounter. In the video (will link if anyone wants to watch it), Ethel Cain talks about her paranormal experiences. At 27:01 she talks about a white, oval-faced creature that stared at her from a wooden fort in the garden, which was witnessed by several different family members over a few years. It even attempted what could be described as a psychic attack, appearing in her dreams before she saw it herself.

Here is her description: "A long, slender, monkey thing. It was white, bright off-white. It had a perfectly ovular long face with two eyes and no other features, that was it."

This sounds very similar to other crawler sightings.

This was in northern Florida (Tallahassee) so not too far flung from where they are usually sighted. If anyone has personal experience of crawlers and wants to share their opinion on what this was, that would be great.

I know this isn't my firsthand experience but it is hers and I'm hoping that's okay for this subreddit, apologies if not!
