Regarding the assault in Birmingham

From the video of the assault in Birmingham, there is a group of black men that assault a white man, a police officer that slams the victim as he is getting up then arrests him when he tries to defend himself. On the other side, another officer goes to catch up to the attackers, has a quick chat with them, and they go to enjoy their night out.

My question is, if this was a gang of white men assaulting a black man, would police officers try to split them up by slamming the victim against the wall and then arresting him, and then let the attackers go on their merry way?

I feel like this only ever goes one way, but it might just be my own bias or the videos that the algorithms show me. Can anyone show me a video of this going the other way?

Investigation launched to identify people following Birmingham city centre assault

Why does it take so much public outrage for the police to put any effort into going after the attackers instead of the victim?
