Annual Fees Different Camps

So, I’m fairly annoyed. I transferred from one state to another. I asked the gym I signed up for how I’d start the process to transfer to the new gym - I was leaving TX in May, and arriving to CA in June. TX gym said no big deal, just tell them you’re transferring and you’ll be good to go. OF COURSE that didn’t happen. CA gym wanted me to pay the drop in fee for every class I attended ($16 each) because TX gym didn’t process my transfer until June (when I arrived to CA). I eventually begged TX gym to transfer me, which they didn’t but then miraculously CA gym said they’d sign me up for classes so I didn’t have to pay the drop in (I had already paid a few but I was over fighting).

Turns out June is also annual fee month for TX gym.. I’m not surprised are you?

Fast forward to today. CA gym is letting us know that annual dues are coming!!! WTF. Why are they different months and WHY MUST I PAY BOTH? Honestly, I am annoyed that I even signed up for burn with the transfer experience alone. I really enjoyed the people at my TX gym. The trainers personally texted me if I missed two days.. This CA gym.. It just doesn’t feel the same. No one cares if I make it or not, but you bet your ass they’d care if my payments went missing. I just hate this. I hate that I was sold on this community idea but it just feels like a $$$$$$$$$$ grab.

Also, side note, I haven’t been to the gym in a few weeks due to a migraine so I could also be hating it more because of that. I know I sound like a brat about the community and no one checking in on me, but what I was sold and what I bought have started to feel so different since I left TX.

Anyways, has anyone had success in only paying ONE ANNUAL fee?
