The reality of what koshur pandits faced in Kashmir. Incidents like this are constantly downplayed or forgotten by a certain sect of Kashmiri society.

Never forget.

There is a systemic silencing of Koshur Pandits by majority in kashmir groups.

Our voices are silenced for merely pointing out cited sources highlighting the complicity of Kashmiri muslims historically in rapes, torture, and forcible conversions of Koshur pandits.

Even though I cite whatever I say based on sources, first-hand testimonials and quoting books on kashmir by kashmiris, these people gaslight us by claiming it's all false.

To all the people who justify the militancy, deny the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits - You're exactly like the Indian Security forces you despise.

When I speak to fellow kashmiris, they act as if what happened to Pandits has been a thing of the past and we should move on.

However, based on my (and relatives/siblings/cousins) personal experiences, I can say that the hatred towards us is still carried by many in Kashmir.

This hatred of KPs on the basis of our religion is disappointing to see and day by day is being normalised.

This is a trend I've seen a lot as I've talked to koshur muslims.

Idk if they don't know how to read or comprehend definitions, or if they are just ignoring reality, but many of them vehemently claim what happened to Koshur Pandits in the 1990s was NOT an Ethnic Cleansing.

For context - Ethnic cleansing is the systematic, forced removal of ethnic, racial, or religious groups from a given territory by a more powerful group. The goal is to make a geographic area ethnically homogeneous, achieved through methods like forced deportation, violence, and the destruction of the targeted group's cultural and physical presence.

Just a brief lesson in history about the brutality and genocide of minorities during the Durrani Empire.

It shows how the local population was complicit in our oppression.

Here is a historic text documenting the complicity of the religious institutions of Kashmir in the indiscriminate killings, rapes, torture and mass forceful conversions of Kashmiri pandits.

Also, I was recently permanently banned for trying to share the same image on r/kashmir. It's clear that they hate us from their core, and they are actively trying to suppress the voices of us minorities.

They often claim no ethnic cleansing of KPs happened in the 1990s and when confronted with the literal definition of the word and challenge them to point out any how exactly we don't fit the definition, they go into whataboutery.

Remember our history, and always confront these cowards about the crimes their parent's generation committed. Hold their community accountable.
