to the person i met at umingle

kind of a long stretch but i just talked to someone on the website umingle with the tag "ust" from the US. it was really unfortunate that i accidentally swiped out of the website and lost our connection. we were both from the same state (new york) and he was from queens who worked in jollibee. don’t want to share too many details because he might not want to be found, but i really enjoyed our conversation. i hope we can reconnect in the future :).

we ended our connection without knowing each others name. he also recommended some places in Queens that i'd love to visit.

if you’re here, please send me a message or reply. if not, i hope i'll be more careful in the future haha

before the move!! 🛫

hello po first time posting on here, i'm moving from the PH to the U.S. in about 1 month and i want to make sure i don’t miss anything important before i leave.

i'd really appreciate guidance from people who have done this before.

here are my main concerns:
government-related things (Philippines) — do i need to notify any government agencies before leaving (e.g. BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG)? or if there are there any documents I should secure before I go abroad?

general advice — what do you wish you had done before moving to the U.S. that you only realized later? Any mistakes to avoid during the transition period?

i'm trying to make this transition as smooth as possible, especially with finances and official requirements, so any advice would really help.

thank you in advance!
