Dont give up

I got dx’d with OSA last November. I lost about 30 lbs and still struggled to sleep to went ahead with a CPAP. I hated it for the first 2-3 months. I went through 3 different masks, tried mouth taping, a chin strap, different hair styles (I have longer hair), different pillows. I slept TERRIBLY for a few months. I boycotted it for a few nights until Lincare called and said I wasn’t in compliance. I was having horrible sleep scores on my Oura ring and ripping it off in the middle of the night.

I kept using it and now it’s awesome. It took getting used to having the mask on (I have the N30 cushion and use two velcro satin straps on the cheek parts) but I sleep so well. So if you’re in a similar boat, keep going. Try different masks if you can, look here for good advice, check amazon for accessories that might help. It can get better!

Does my kitten hate or love the new puppy?

We got our kitten about 14 months ago and she’s currently 16 months old. So in the throes of adolescence lol. She was very chill as a baby, then around 6 months became a little crocodile monster, and now she’s chilling out again. She has a high prey drive and isn’t really scared of anything. She loves our family but isn’t a cuddly girl, but does enjoy to be around us.

We adopted our puppy 2 months ago. He is 10 months old now, has little to no prey drive, is very much submissive, and generally a giant goof. Very smooth brain.

He wasn’t interested in the kitten for the first few days, but increasingly has tried everything to play with her. He chases her but never uses his teeth if he catches her. He has never, ever harmed her. He has tried EVERYTHING: bowing, rolling over, pawing at her, chasing her, he’s desperate for a play mate lol. We made him stop for a while because we didn’t want her to be distressed. We also let her swat at him and assert herself as necessary. She’s about 9 lbs, he’s about 50.

Recently we’ve noticed she is seemingly engaging him in play. She chases him from room to room, and will seek him out. But when they engage, she yowls, swats (no claws), and hisses. She has plenty of places to escape and we always monitor their interactions (he’s not allowed to be anywhere in the house alone because he’s a puppy lol).

I’m just wondering—is she enjoying him?! Is she trying to play??? How would I know whether or not she’s actually scared or if she just doesn’t understand? She had two dog siblings when we adopted her, but they were both seniors who never played with her, so I’m not sure she knows how to play with a dog.

Any advice or input appreciated!

Update: tadpoles!

Original post here

The tadpoles are HUGE! And I believe they’re definitely Copes Grey tree frogs! I’ll keep updating, but for now, what are steps I can take to keep them safe and growing? Thank you!

30lbs gone 🙏

Can’t believe it. I feel strong, healthy, and comfortable in my body. My clothes fit in ways they havent in years. I dont feel like I need to hide anymore. Even in pictures I look different. It’s taken a while, and I’ve been very cognizant of maintaining muscle mass, eating enough to have fuel, and being aware of macros. I’m hoping to get to my goal weight of 160 by Dec 31, so that’s another 22 lbs in 5 months. Just feeling grateful for this medication!!

Why didn’t anyone tell me?!

I’ve always been a rescue fan. My last two dogs came from rescues and they were hound mixes. They both passed in the last year, one a few months ago, so I began looking for a new pup. I adopted an 8-month-old pitty puppy and oh. My. Gosh.

WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME they’re the best dogs in the world?! He is the sweetest, snuggliest, friendliest, happiest, easiest puppy in the world. I’m obsessed with him. My heart dog passed a few months ago and I never thought I’d love a dog like that again. I’ll always hold a piece of my old girl in my heart, but this guy has healed me in every way.

I will forever advocate for pittys. I always loved them as a breed and never had fear or anxiety around them, but oh my goodness, I will be their loudest advocate and biggest fan. I’m so thankful he found us.

Thank you all for listening 😂

Edit: thank you all for the love and support!!! I’m so happy to be part of this community! He is officially 1/3 American pitbull, 1/3 American staffy, and 1/3 all sorts of things (including 5% chihuahua lol). He’s on Instagram as boudinithebully :)

The scale isn’t the best picture of change

Hey! I just started Zepbound 2 weeks ago. I was on wegovy for about 5 months with very slow weight loss. SW: 212, CW: 194, 5’5” female. GW: 160-170. I also have the GE smart scale with the handle that I track on daily. I wanted to share here why it’s sooooo important to also take body measurements.

For reference, I eat between 1700-2000kcal per day, weightlift 3x per week, and do a long peloton the other 2 days. The weekend is for rest. I’m working hard to maintain and/or build muscle and lose fat, which I know makes the number on the scale move more slowly. But today I took body measurements and I was floored by the changes in myself since March. My weight hasn’t changed drastically, but I have lost a good amount of inches (aka fat) over the last 2 months and wanted to share! Biggest loss is in my abdomen where I hold most of my fat.

If you aren’t taking measurements, I encourage you to start! I thought I was in a plateau but truly, it’s just my body composition changing. Makes me keep going 💪
