Client set up a camera pointed right at me

As the title says, I show up at a job, start opening boxes to assemble furniture and the client quietly comes into the room and sets up a camera pointed in my direction less than 2 metres from where I’m standing, then walks out of the room like this is the most normal thing to do, not a word.

It’s worth mentioning I’m a woman, working alone at this man’s house. I immediately stopped what I was doing and went after him to say I didn’t feel comfortable with that, he argued for a while and said the camera feed went to his wife, but did end up taking it down when he saw I wasn’t having it.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there a world in which this would be appropriate?
