I think I've HAD IT with my roommate 🙏🏻

I was friends with this girl I got to know around February/March. Since we both needed to change our respective PGs, we decided to move in together.

Honestly, I knew she was a bit unhygienic, but I didn’t think it would be such a big problem. I’m usually able to keep my surroundings clean even with difficult roommates. But this time, I think I’m done with PGs altogether.

Here’s what happened.
Leftover food was never thrown in the garbage. Utensils with leftovers, no matter how big (read: aam achaar ka dabba), were left in the sink for me to wash. Banana peels were left on the table.
I spoke to her about the kitchen, and things improved to some extent.

But the real problem was something I hadn’t even noticed yet.
Our washroom used to stink terribly, and I assumed it was a drainage issue. Then one day, I realised she doesn’t flush after peeing. We have an Indian-style toilet, so I hadn’t noticed it earlier.
I called her out on it, and she admitted that she doesn’t flush. But that very same day, she did it again, and I had to remind her to flush.

Imagine having to ask a 27-year-old woman to maintain basic hygiene. Lord.
I’m moving out. 🙏 I’ve genuinely had it.

Social Stays hostel Mussoorie/Rishikesh

I had a terrible experience at this hostel, and both places. It was so bad that all my dreams of solo travel have been crushed. If you're a female solo traveller please avoid this place.
