About the state of AI in this Subreddit

Hi to all of you guys, just wanted to share some thoughs about this subreddit and in general the community.

Honestly I think it's a massive disgrace that AI content is not only allowed but even encouraged, here or like on Youtube and stuff.

I don't think I'm the only one that noticed a worrying amount of AI generated content and this is hurting the entire community in more ways than you think of.

Don't believe me? Take the status of this subreddit itself! While it's not the most active subreddit for sure, a few years ago it was at least a place for interesting topics, debates, opinions and news. Now it's almost just AI slop of drawings that do not even resemble Takahashi's style, rap music generated with Suno and the most awful Youtube video thumbnails ever.

Now some of you will rightfully say that I'm probably caring too much about this, especially considering that even the creator itself is open to using AI, but this trend is making original content disappear more and more. The basis of a community itself going away in a dust it's inacceptable for a community that is already very limited on number, against the likes of Blue Lock and Inazuma Eleven.

Again, try and tell me some examples of original artists and video creators that don't just make the same type of video on Dream Team of the 421426th analysis on World Fighters gameplay and I'm sure you won't be able to go past 10 names, heck... even 5.

During the period of RONC it was much different, especially on Twitter where tons of artists, especially in Japan, did many artworks and posts about Captain Tsubasa in general, creating a somewhat small but active space to share our passion in a creative way. But now, 6 years later, while many of these content creators are slowly disappearing, there is no real change of people able to deliver the same kind of experience, because of course who will bother to put actual effort if someone will eventually steal their works and write some dumb prompt like:

"Hey StupidGPT, steal this artist's drawing but make it about some random IRL football player and add the piss filter"

(And if you think stealing art is not that big of a deal, let me tell you about a name, RICO, who knows knows)

Honestly, this made this place (and not only here unfortunally) a very stale place where actual discussion and original content is not only hidden by the many posts of AI, but even discouraged considering the rules of this subreddit.

If what remains of this community still wants to create a safe environment, I think this is definitely NOT the right way to go.

TL:DR : AI Slop is killing the community and their creators
