Although some sources (and the Adrian Boot Blog) tag the photo as "Paris 1985", many fans and retrospective notes point out that Tom Waits was married to Kathleen Brennan by 1980, and the aesthetic of the photo strongly suggests the late 1970s. Some sources, including photographic archives, label similar shots from this era as London 1979.
