Bought tank at Goodwill, found two bodies 🤢 (TW: dead geck)

>!Where I live has been very hot, so I’ve wanted to get an emergency tank for my crestie in case I need to evacuate (AC issues!< >!😭!<>!). My sweet grandma found an exoterra 12x12x18 at goodwill for $20 and picked it up for me. This cage was obviously used for a crested gecko so I was excited to take some of the decor. When I began to clean it out, I found this along with another buddy with nothing but a skull and spine. Honestly, I hate dealing with death and this triggered me immensely. Goodwill, what the fuck!! And if whoever donated that tank KNEW!< >!they’re!< >!was two dead animals inside, they have a warm seat in hell.!<

I am now staring at my crested, wondering how anyone could neglect them to that state. I love my little girl too much, some people don’t deserve to keep pets :(. Guess I wanted to share to get some of the angst off my chest and show other morbidly curious people.

Cooling Tank During Heatwave

I live in Arizona where the environment is extremely dry and hot. My A/C is having issues and my apartment complex is being slow to fix it. I have a two year old female crestie in a 18x18x24 enclosure. The temps have been reaching up to 84°F and currently it is 87° in my house. I have three fans running in my room and ice spread out in her cage. I just moved into this new place, and have never dealt with a heat issue this bad before. Does anyone have advice on how to temporarily cool down the enclosure? I’m heavily debating just getting a cheap tub and making a smaller enclosure to see if that cools down better, but unsure of how that all works. Thanks for reading!
