Has anyone successfully lightened an arm sleeve enough to get an acceptable coverup?

Title. Started getting patchwork style tattoos done when I was 16. I loved the ignorant style of sticker sleeves, just placing pieces wherever and hoping it eventually came together in the end. Now at 26, looking at my arm is like pulling teeth. Nothing is cohesive except maybe the style. The tattoos themselves aren’t done terribly, but I wasted a lot of good real estate. I’d love to replace it with a dark realism sleeve that flows, but I’d need to lighten it first. I don’t see many posts about this process. Has anyone had success with a situation like mine?
