brass sit from a climb has been my enemy for a while but i finally got it down!
returning after a shoulder injury with this simple flow
i strained my left rotator cuff a couple weeks ago which was pretty scary, but after some rest and recovery i’m back :)
scared about what shoulder injury means for me and pole
mostly just a rant/not looking for medical advice as i have an assessment with a physiotherapist coming up, but would love to know if anyone’s been in a similar situation
on sunday i was attempting a closed ballerina on my bad side (left arm) and i felt somewhat of a crunch in my shoulder and my arm had this dull radiating ache from my shoulder down the rest of my arm on and off ever since, usually activated by physical activity. last night i was woken up by similar pain but worse than what i was experiencing throughout the day. i had to take painkiller to go back asleep
google is telling me it could be a rotator cuff injury. this is my first notable injury since i started pole and im super worried about what the diagnosis will be and how much time off will be needed to fully recover. ive been unemployed since i graduated from my program in april and pole and physical activity has been the routine that has kept my mental health in check during uncertain times
not gonna pole or lift heavy with my upper body until i can get it assessed. until then any words of advice/encouragement? 😔
made a little comparison video of how some of my pole skills have improved over 9 months :)
taking videos has been really helpful in my pole journey - i love looking back at where i started to see how much i’ve improved :) and it’s been so affirming!
been dancing for almost 9 months! here’s some clips from today’s practice
does anyone else have a fear of heights
usually during combos i will only climb once, im only now starting to climb twice so i can drop into an OLH from a jasmine. i’ve never had any bad falls yet but id usually rather not risk it, especially if its an inverted trick. looking down at how high i am makes me freeze up bad
do any other pole dancers here avoid climbing up high, even if an option? 😅 better yet, did anyone get over it?
getting confident enough with leg hangs to try them in spinning combos :)
+ taught myself duchess today!
what tricks are you equally as comfortable with on both sides
i was thinking about this today while practicing stargazer - usually for tricks i have a preferred/more comfortable side, but with stargazer it doesn’t really make much difference
do you guys have tricks that are similar for you?
long time lurker, thought i’d share this little combo i’m proud of :)
been poling for about 7 months now, feeling stronger every day
hey yall!
i started pole seven months because i wanted to do tricks, but lately i’ve developed an appreciation and interest for low flow, especially now that i have my first pair of heels
i attended a couple choreo classes at my pole studio but to be honest i didn’t really enjoy it. i dont like trying to keep up with the teacher and also didnt really love the choreo or music selection. i had a lot more fun dancing to my own music and at my own pace during an open session, really helped me get into and find my rhythm and flow
the choreo classes have been helpful for learning new moves, but do you guys have any tips for learning them on my own? any video tutorial recommendations? or should i give the choreo classes a second chance?
