Anti “hot girl” Pilates marketing
Curious if anyone has seen the Instagram post/tik tok floating around from a studio owner in San Diego announcing her studios as “anti hot girl” studios. I think I get her intended message- at our studio you can wear what you want and be comfortable in a non matching set- but I feel like that’s the vibe at any studio these days? From the many many studios I have attended (including this one a few times), I have never felt a studio discriminated against anyone due to their outfit. Also what if dressing in a cute outfit and drinking matcha makes the client happy? What is their definition of a “hot girl”?
Maybe it was meant to be rage bait content as here I am making a post about it but the post (and a few more created by the owner on their business page) are a huge turn off.
Curious others thoughts, does that type of marketing read “real” to you (aka you want to know if a studio is all about the workout, less about aesthetic to which I do see an argument!) Or is it try hard and desperate and a sure sign that people are probably leaving that studio for shiner things and the owner is very threatened
