Hello DACA community. I have a question about driver's license renewal, my driver's license has expired for nearly almost 3 months because of the delays that we are experiencing. I was wondering whether I will have to retake the test all over again? Texas. I thank you in advance for your feedback.
According to this News, a DACA recipient is currently in custody over a terrorist plot attempt during a MMA event that was being held in front of the White House lawn. I hardly believe that a DACA recipient would try something this stupid. Even so, why are all DACA recipients being blamed for something that one person did? As if all DACA recipients were there doing what this man supposedly did. If this man committed a criminal act then 'he' should be prosecuted, the rest of us had nothing to do with the act.
November 21, 2025 here, going into the 7 month waiting period. I wonder if all the delays that we are experiencing are from the applicants who have submitted their applications online? As opposed to paper applications that have been seen and gone through the hands of actual human beings. This is actually my first time doing a complete Online application, and the experience is not so great.
I'm about to be homeless and get bad credit. It has been almost two months since my work permit has expired and my renewal application is still processing, that's almost two months without any form of income. I'm going to be breaking my apartment lease and my two year electricity contract agreement, as a result I will end up with a bad credit score. This is some BS. Frankly, I believe DACA recipients are in need of psychotherapy or counseling, a safe place where we can vent our frustrations. Gee whiz! That they will delay our applications without any prior warning so that we may prepare ourselves for possible future difficulties, that's totally irresponsible on behalf of this Republican Administration.
I know that this post is not directly linked to DACA, but I just wanted to let the DACA community know that it is official; James Talarico will be facing Ken Paxton for Texas Senate. I have posted many times before that I am not a fan of corrupt Ken Paxton for many reasons; he steals, he has committed fraud, he cheats and most recently he has released a convicted pedophile who was to serve 25 years behind bars for multiple counts of child abuse, Ken Paxton released the man only after 1 month in jail. A great deal of Texans are behind James Talarico D-TX for Texas Senator. I believe this is who is going to win the Senate. I can never advocate for Ken Paxton after what he did to DACA recipients only to impress his political buddies. The days of Ken Paxton as a political figure are numbered and good riddance to this terrible man.

Texas law SB4 will now move forward and will allow local law enforcement to arrest anyone who is suspected of being in the country without proper documentation. It is unclear when the law will take into affect, but it is certain that it will take into affect in the near future.
I have recently discovered that Representative Tom Souzzi from New York is a huge advocate for an immigration reform bill. He has the right idea and the right demeanor towards immigration. He advocates for DACA and many other groups that so desperately need a more secure form of protection.
