Op Amp Fuzz

So this one went off the rails a little bit…

I started out with plans to do an op amp fuzz turret build. Once I started working on how I’d attach the IC it sort of dawned on me that I didn’t need the turrets at all and off I went!

It’s a little sloppy since I didn’t really plan it out, but it sounds great and is a great test build for a nice and neat one down the line.

First Vero Build

My first kit was a PCB, then I dabbled with perfboard, point to point and etching my own PCBs - but I’ve never dabbled with a vero board.

Finally got around to it and here we are. It’s. Distortion+ with all the Wampler mod bells and whistles.

Figured this art work was pretty appropriate for my first strip build.

Any tips or tricks for next time? I’ve already talked to someone re: needing to dial back my cuts. I’m mad I didn’t take a photo of the backside of the board, I was really happy with the little amount of solder I used.

Here’s my second go at a two in one amp in a box pedal - first one was a DIY Mutt a few weeks back.

This one started out with two iffy PCBMania boards. As is tradition, one (the Texas Storm) had an undiagnosable issue.

So back to the drawing board. Ended up etching a new board using the pattern from Effects Layout. My success rate with etching my own boards is only SLIGHTLY better than with PCBMania - so it wasn’t a sure thing.

The board ended up coming out A-OK. Wired it up with a home brew mixing circuit and we’re off to the races.

The mixer board was designed to fit perfectly in my homebrew Mutt - it did NOT fit well in this guy. There’s a lot of electrical tape doing its job in there.

Sounds real good - one side is mellow, the other harsh, and I can mix and match em how I please.
