anyone going to kfu?

Hey, I’m going to be joining Kazan Federal University (KFU) and was wondering if there’s already a WhatsApp/Telegram/Reddit/ Instagram group for students joining KFU, especially international students.

If there’s an existing group, I’d really appreciate it if someone could point me towards it. If there isn’t one, I’d be happy to connect with other students going to KFU and maybe we can create one?

Would be nice to know a few people before actually getting there instead of arriving knowing absolutely nobody. 😭

Feel free to comment or DM me if you’re joining KFU too

Confused about choosing a Russian medical university for MBBS (budget ~$50–55k / ₹40–45 lakh) — need honest advice from current students & graduates

I’m planning to study medicine in Russia and currently researching universities that are NMC recognised and listed in WDOMS.

My priorities:

- Good academics + clinical exposure

- Better FMGE/NExT preparation support

- Good faculty and hostel facilities

- Safe environment for Indian students

My budget is around ₹40–45 lakh INR total (approx $48k–55k USD / 4.5–5 million RUB).

Currently considering:

Kazan Federal University, Tver State Medical University, Tambov State Medical University, Perm State Medical University, Mechnikov, Mephi and a few others.

Would really appreciate honest opinions from current students/graduates:

Which universities are actually worth considering?

How is the teaching, hospital exposure, hostel, and FMGE/NExT preparation?

Not looking for agent opinions, just genuine student experiences. Thank you

Need honest opinions from Indian students in Russia MBBS: Kazan/Bashkir vs Perm/Mari State? (urgent)

Hi everyone, I’m an Indian student considering MBBS in Russia and I wanted some honest opinions from students currently studying there or recent graduates.

Initially I was looking into Kazan Federal University and Bashkir State Medical University because they seem to be the more well-known options, but a counselor recently told me that these universities are becoming extremely crowded, hostel facilities are not great because of the number of students, and that the total course duration can sometimes stretch close to 7–8 years for international students.

They instead suggested universities like Perm State Medical University and Mari State University, saying they have fewer students, lower budget, and more manageable environments.

I wanted to ask:

- Is the crowd/hostel situation in Kazan and Bashkir actually that bad?

- Does the course really get delayed that much?

- How are Perm State and Mari State in terms of teaching quality, clinical exposure, hostel life, and overall student experience?

- Do these universities provide any extra FMGE/NExT coaching or support classes for Indian students?

- If your goal is eventually PLAB/UK, USMLE, or PG abroad, does the university matter much?

- Looking back, would you still choose the same university again?

Would really appreciate honest answers, especially from current students instead of agents/counselors. Thanks!
