Can US Mobile trace a lost/stolen phone via tower pings? When I reported my phone stolen, the police said that many carriers have the ability to track a phone beyond what Google Find Hub can do. The officer asked if I had requested my carrier to do so.

I know that if the phone is on, it is constantly pinging a tower, even if it doesn't have paid service. That is what enables emergency calling and other functions.

If US Mobile cannot track a phone this way, can the parent carriers do so? How do you go about asking for this?
