Help entering the GCSE and A-Levels tutoring market
Hi everyone,
I'm a doctor who is currently unable to pursue a medical career.
I absolutely love teaching and I am currently 1/3 done with my PGCert in Medical Education and a remote TA role in my university in my home country (not paid). In the meantime I have been tutoring on superprof. It has been pretty slow, I got 3 students in and around medicine, my rates are very low still.
I am trying to expand and understand that most of the tutoring market in the UK revolves around the GCSE, A-levels and UCAT.
My issue is that I studied abroad most of my life and have not sat for UCAT, GCSEs or A-levels. I am confident that my university science courses and medical degree put me in a good spot to teach science, chemistry, biology and psychology. I want to build up my skills, knowledge and credibility in the school/highschool tutoring field.
Was wondering if anyone has recommendations on how to go about it? Even if there are some organisations that provide some training where I can start off volunteering I am happy to do so.
Thank you
