I spent the last weeks deleting all pinned pins: saved all links into my Notion and downloaded all pretty pictures and creative ideas. I feel free now.
As a lot of you pointed out: pinterest as app is filled with Ads and is no fun to use at all anymore. Also I couldn't see any pins of the people and boards I've followed (which was an option few years ago, similar to youtube subscriptions).
So I decided to delete my account BUT also saved everything important.
I'm happy to share that in my around 10.000 pins there were a lot of great ideas I had forgotten about 😃 (but also a lot of crap from earlier times, I won't miss) I feel inspired now, and sorted everything away ... again, but in a more offliny world now (Notion and .. just my windows explorer folders).
It's nice to no nothing will be delted by pinterest itself and that I can look ad-free at all the beautiful pictures, find all the ideas as easy as before and also now have a huuuuge reading list of nice and cozy/creative blogs. This will help me for sure with my ADHS and social media consumption in general, for the doom scrolling will get less and also the bad feeling when I opened the app and only saw ads.
Just wanted to share a personal win and also maybe a 'if you want to you could leave too without too much of a loss' hint.
Best regards and have a nice day!
