For me it's: "Give Gintoki a real sword and he'd kill Kamui like there's no tomorrow". And this quote is popular among Youtube comments, which baffles me.

What are your choices?

I wanted to dedicate this post to one of my favorite characters in the PreCure franchise., so here it is, lol.

Ever since KimiPre started and I saw Kokoro's design, I automatically felt that she would be the one to carry the show all by herself. And I wasn't wrong about that at all.

Though, on the other hand, I have noticed that she has become less popular among the fans of KimiPre, since I've seen people mostly appreciating Idol, Wink and Kiss a lot and Kokoro barely even gets talked about because they've started to call her "a bland catchphrase bot and nothing else". That saddens me a lot and I disagree. Therefore I've decided to defend her in this post.

People act as if she was the only one with flaws, which is absolutely incorrect, like she wasn't the only neglected victim of the show's authors and lack of development for no good reasons. In fact, however, despite all that, she was the one to have carried at least the first half of the series and I can give a lot of reasons as to why i still find Kokoro the best of them all and here's why:

1. She wasn't so boring at all. She's the only one besides Meroron who has a personality and is funny and mature. Ever her ahoge has a personality.
2. One of the best episodes in the entire franchise (The Mother's Day) is centered around her. The crossover episode with Dancing Star Precure is also centered around her.
3. She isn't involved in creepy relationships/ships like KaiUta and ZakkuNana.
4. She wasn't toxic and bratty like Meroron once was.
5. Even if some people are annoyed with her catchphrase, at least she never said it as often as Uta did with hers. And her catchphrase makes sense regarding her character and its symbolism.
6. She has one of the best and strongest attacks in the show besides ZukyoonKiss'.
7. She is the only one of the main trio who put her heart and soul into making Idol Precure popular and significant, while the rest was just standing there and commenting.
8. Her design is the cutest.
9. She was never annoying.
10. Her attack song "Kokoro Revolution" rocks the house.

That being said, the only flaw she ever has is the fact that the authors decided to suddenly shove her aside for the sake of their favorite pink lead genki girl and her romantic tendencies toward a young adult.

I hope that I'm not the only person who still likes Kokoro despite all the criticism she gets from the fandom.

• Ayame Sarutobi, Queen of the Masochists, can never lay off Gin-chan's D*.
• Binbokusai.....someone please give him toilet paper!
• Catherine, the "cat-like thief" and fan of Tamacure Silver Soul along with Otose.
• Dark Vader, the king of Elizabeths.
• Elizabeth, just what the hell are you lmao? a person wearing a costume, or the director of Gintama? Never mind, he's just Dragonia.
• Fumiko, the one getting aroused by a bench hit
• Gintoki, that diabetic lazy bum, always picking his nose and crushing on a girl named "asshole".
• Hijikata the Mayo freak, cannot live without it and his cherished Mayoboro. Inventer of the world's infamous Hijikata-special, also called "Dog Food".
• Isao Kondo a.k.a. Gorilla-stalker constantly getting his ass kicked by a female gorilla.
• Jirocho, nothing to say here, he's just badass.
• Kamui, that overly gluttonous Baka Aniki with family issues. And his nose-picking Barfing Queen of a sister deserves the same spot as well.
• Leukocyte King, Mr. Cosplay Hero version of Gintoki, lol.
• Mitsuba, S-King's sister, tabasco sadism runs in their family.
• NobuNobu, the diarrhea Shogun as a special weapon during interrogations with ruthless aliens.
• Okita, King of the Planet of Sadists that likes chewing on his damn tabasco and using it against others.
• Pakuyasa, the legendary and irreplaceable Fat White Demon.
• Q -
• Rei, the Gin-chan-posessing Stand.
• Shinpachi, glasses wearing a human and a walking Tsukkomi. Dondakeeee!
• Tatsuma, ahahahaha-hahahaha-ahahahaha! *BARF*
• Umibozu, the most iconic Baldie and stupidest dad.

LOL, creating such stuff sure is hard and takes a while to think, because Gintama has 99% of amazing characters that you simply cannot hate. So here's my personal opinion on the characters:

Favorite character: Unpopular opinion here, but Kamui. Yes it's still him, lol. Can't help it. I love me some good-loking, silly yet badass butt-kicking Baka Aniki with a good writing, wish there was more though.

2nd favorite character: I couldn't choose between Sougo and Zura (both are equally my 2nd favorites), but Zura is just too iconic and hilarious to watch, everytime he pops up, you know it's going to be hysterical.

Most hated character: I know (almost) everyone would agree with me that Housen is literally the worst scumbag to ever exist in the Gintama-verse, he was a completely heartless monster with no redemption and empathy whatsoever. At least SadaSada's death was much more brutal and Housen deserved a much worse death for what he's done. Good typical villain though.

Favorite secondary character: Shogun Kayoooooo!! Sho-chan was so great in every episode he was centered in, including the serious ones. He was a great leader and for me, the only true Shogun, there just wasn't anyone who could ever top him or at least even him. He will be missed...

Favorite major antagonist: Takasugi (Kamui also but couldn't put him there, lol). I used to not like him that much, but after watching the SA arc and the final movie several times, I came to conclusion that he really is one of the best-written characters in the show and I felt really bad for him in the end of the final movie. His fights with Gintoki were always too emotional to watch.

Favorite minor antagonist: Nobunobu. Used to hate him a lot, but after his character development, the creators just had to make me feel sorry for him and gain some sympathy as well before his death.

Favorite Yato: Well, a favorite character of mine, who is a Yato, also takes my 'favorite Yato' spot. I wish I could add Kagura as well. The Yato siblings are the best.

Favorite female character: Kagura. Not much to say here, but she is objectively the best female anime character (or at least one of them). What's not to like about a butt-kicking, cute-looking, nose-picking, overeating, vomitting Queen of Trolls? Lol, she just rules period.

Favorite male character: Okay, so I put Sadist King here, but he's not the only favorite male character of mine, lol. If I could, I would also put Gin-chan, Kamui, Zura and Toshi in the same box.

Funniest character: It's a toss-up between Zura and Gintoki (again, I can put only one character in the respective box). However in terms of comedy, Zura is just a special case. He's so unhinged, his dedication to disguises and wildly overactive, overdramatic imaginations have turned him into the funniest idiot in the Gintama-verse, somehow even beating Gintoki in terms of that. That's why he'll always be our favorite goofball of all time.

Favorite genderbent: Souko. Sougo as a female was too hilarious not to put here. Though, I'd give some credit to genderbent fat Hijikata, lol.

Favorite Yorozuya: Gin-chan, not just a favorite Yorozuya but also one of the best characters in both Gintama and in the anime/manga Universe of all time.

Hottest character: This is a hard one and it's impossible to choose just one:

• Gintoki
• Kamui
• Hijikata
• Takasugi
• Zura
• Abuto (perhaps)

Females (no homo):

• Adult (or wart, lol) Kagura
• Tsukki
• Nobume
• Sa-chan

Character you warmed up to: Takasugi (check the 'Favorite Major Antagonist' part).

Favorite minor arc: Popularity poll arc. Too iconic, hilarious and somehow realistic in the Gintama world. I don't know how many times I have rewatched this arc and it makes me wish other character popularity polls had their arcs as well, giving Kamui and Takasugi screentime this time. But one can dream, right?

Favorite major arc: Rather unpopular opinion, but I choose Rakuyou Decisive Battle arc. The SA and FS arcs are already increasingly popular and loved by every Gintama fan in the world (me included), I had to give it to this one. Personally I think this arc is as good as (or almost as good as) SA and FS. Reallt loved the action, some comedy moments, the Joui reunion was good, and then the Yato-centered part comes along. I really loved it and enjoyed every bit of that 2nd half sonce I had been waiting for it for ages. I was always a sucker for the Yato characters ever since the Yoshiwara arc came about (except for Housen, he makes me super angry). Loved the conclusion to the arc with Kamui putting Kouka's favorite flower on her gravestone, finally accepting his past and starting to reconsider himself after the big and bloody feud against the Yorozuya and Abuto. That was beautiful.

Favorite OP: A great, catchy and iconic opening to one of the best arcs in the series.

Favorite ED: "Hey. Hey Samurai Heart!". Really love this song.
