Song suggestions that have more subtle approach?

At 64 I just started playing guitar in a worship band. Never too late I guess.

I don’t have any problems playing what’s presented to me, (we played Graves into gardens and nothing better than you which I thought were both great songs this past week) but I’m wondering if anybody has ideas about songs that are a bit more subtle. I mean songs that have a modern indie folk or rock influence that teach by example rather than by quotation or declaration. Modern parables if you will, that if you didn’t know you were listening to a religious song you might not recognize it at first.

I was told that they’d love to hear my suggestions. I’m just so unaware of the genre, that I’m relying on your help.

Thanks much!
