First half of the season with my new low block counter tactic has gone "quite well" - but that goal is burning a searing hole in my soul...

Mainz scored past me inside the first 20 minutes of the season (6-1).

GW1 Bench boost - any changes you'd make?

Avoiding Man City players until I know how Maresca has them playing. Yet oddly have no-issue with chucking in random lads... Any thoughts on changes would be appreciated.

Targeting my own Newcastle - as I know how this is going to go (or maybe I'm cursing Liverpool by picking them, who knows...) plus Ipswich, Coventry and Hull. Brighton are light up top -hence Konsa. JP looks good in pre-season - so will probably fail to return, and Sangare and Muharemovic (sp?) excite me...

Don't pay too much attention to youth star ratings....

Both my first choice centre backs have badly broken a leg each. I've put in a £55m+ bid for a 23 year old Spurs defender - easily one of the top ten in Europe - to help me continue my CL run.

I decided to look through his club history - and realised he came through at Sheffield United in first season intake. Wow, I was manager in third season... Then, I noticed I released him in my big opening cull of 2 star and below potential youth players...

Now for reference, this was a "relegation candidate from Championship" level Sheffield United. 2 or less stars potential - not great. Now world class via Carlisle, Middlesbrough and Spurs.

So, if a player looks good or passes the eye test in match, they may still be much better than your staff believe...
