Had a lot of beer last night, a lot of beer. What’s the most beer you’ve guzzled in a day?

I went down the social club, had about a dozen pints of Guinness, then about the same of Madri, left about 10pm and had a kebab supper, got to bed and not long woke up, feel as rough as a badgers arse.

would be interested to hear what you lot can drink

I made a beer rating app!

Whenever we have family get togethers you can bet their is always an argument over what beer has been brought! To avoid this my brother in law wanted me to create something like a spreadsheet so we can taste and rate beers so they go into a ranking... I did one better, I made an app!

This is Tap Room, an app where you can rate beers with your friends. Scores are hidden until you have tried and rated the beer. Once you have, you can see everyone else’s scores and where it sits on the ranking.

You make a group, invite people, add whatever’s being drunk, and score it. That’s pretty much it.

We’ve been using it at family get togethers so the “best beer” argument actually goes somewhere.

It’s not live yet. I built it for us really, but before I start putting money into getting it on the stores I wanted to see if anyone else would actually use something like this, or if it’s just a us thing.

Have my taste buds changed?

Hi all, is it just me? Has anyone else noticed the taste of Old Speckled Hen draft has changed? It was my go to usual in my local, but with the change in taste I've gone right off it 🤷🤔

Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Gold

My final drink from last night, very solid and very malty.

Easy drinker and you could have 3-4 without wanting to change it up.

Bonus point for a fancy bottle,

UK Beer Deals

I built a free website that finds discounted beer from UK breweries 🍺

Hopefully this is useful to a few people here.

I've been building UK Beer Deals — a completely free website that searches UK breweries and bottle shops for discounted beer and pulls the deals together in one place.

The idea came from getting fed up with finding out about brewery sales after all the good stuff had already sold out.

It currently monitors hundreds of UK breweries/bottle shops and looks for genuine price reductions. You can:

- Browse currently discounted beers

- See the original price, sale price and % saving

- Search and filter the deals

- Find breweries and bottle shops near you

- Save your favourite breweries and see their products together

There's no subscription or membership required — it's free to use.

I'm still actively developing it, so I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback on things that would make it more useful, particularly from a money-saving perspective.

And full disclosure: it's my website. I'm posting it because it seemed particularly relevant to this sub rather than pretending I've randomly stumbled across it! I messaged the mods in advance of posting this.

Otherworld - Smoked Helles

A cross between a Lager and a packet of Frazzles.

Nice enough and an interesting try but I'll stick to those done by Schlenkerla I think.

Places in London with Beamish?

Yank who is Traveling to the UK mainly for the real ale, but I’ve heard that Beamish is becoming increasingly more common on tap in the UK in the last few years. Anyone know if any places in London, or perhaps less likely, York who are carrying it? I’ve seen some Liverpool and Manchester pubs have carried it in the last six months based on YouTube videos but idk.

Waitrose upping their game

Thanks to being mentioned on here I picked a few of these beauties up as well as a 6 pack of Sam Adams lager in Waitrose this weekend. There’s no fanfare no big displays and the cans would have been lost in the array of craft offerings if I hadn’t read about it on here so cheers 🍻

Peterborough Beer Festival rendezvous pub recommendations, please.

Hello beer lovers. A group of us are traveling from various compass points to PBo Beer Fest by train, and I'm planning to arrive a bit early and find a decent pub to wait in while the rest of the gang arrives. The festival is on the embankment again this year, so somewhere on the way would be ideal if you have any recommendations.

£7.10 each way direct for an hour & ten minutes on the train from Lincoln.

Samuel Adams Boston Lager in Waitrose

I've just found this in Waitrose, £12 for 6 cans (355ml), brewed in Boston. I can't remember the last time I saw this in a UK supermarket, but it was one of my favourite beers about 14 years ago as I was getting into craft beers. And I'm delighted that it still tastes great.
