One hour and a half later..

I've done a quick wash and this is it for another 2 months it seems - what do others do for washing cars? Jags or otherwise? I've never used a car wash place, my routine was clean wheels.. around half an hour or seems give or take - foam wash with Meguiar's Ultimate Car Snow, rinse - two bucket wash with Goodyear wash n wax - rinse - turtle wax wash and dry.. buff off everything. Windows cleaned with chamois, engine bay cleaned and boot cleaned. I used several microfiber cloths, into the washing machine when done.

I got a huge pack of cloths from Costco ages ago. That's it. I was thinking these car wash places take around 20 minutes they must destroy a car at the pace they work.

Duvel glasses porn..

I've just decided I will use one of these for a drink, you don't want to drop these ones...

I have too many glasses, the money is with the Duvel no doubt.

Hawkstone..

A very good beer, I was skeptical about this when it was launched but it's very good indeed, I gave a box of this stuff to my brother in Ireland earlier this year and he wolfed it down in no time it seems. It's rather expensive in shops, Costco have boxes which is up my street - nobody should overpay for anything.

New Tyres for the Jaaaaaaag

Crazily enough getting these fitted is about the highest money I've spent on 'parts' if you could call it that in almost 3 years owning this. £354.8 on Camskill delivered plus £72 for fitting and balancing both with new valves. I used a place I have been at previously and trust them not to damage my alloys.

I found out that the Pirelli previously fitted were also over inflated 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.. my c--k up

37-38 psi I had, a costly mistake so I'm going to double check what is on the rears now.

Graphic art on the side wall is very nice 👍

Hopefully these will last a long time, with the state of the roads I am wondering why do you even do this.

Everything but the name...

The legendary 9983-7000, Seiko never made mechanical watches during this period, the Seiko Superiors are essentially a Grand Seiko in Quartz guise. I've sold thousands of pounds of my watches this year because I have to release funds for my grail, including a bunch of Seiko Superiors, in fact all of the Twin Quartz models I've sold including this one - I've had two of these and kept this because of how wonderful it is and it's condition. My other Superior is the 9983-8000 with it's Paulownia box and certificate, that's going to be expensive.

My watches are down to about 8 now and that's it.

Jaguar F Type SVO and Project 7.

From today's visit at Silverstone. Plus the engine bay of my humble 4.2 XKR-S

What did they do....

Oh Jaguar what have you done...

Just back home from a cracking day out at the Jaguar Breakfast Meeting, apparently for Supercharged Vehicles but they are all welcome. Looking at all this metal makes you wince at what has happened, Jaguar once purveyors of the finest vehicles and engines you could get. For anyone who has a scratch to itch, I strongly recommend you get that done, that clock is ticking when these will be all banned for good. I didn't know anyone who was attending, a few chaps I met last year never attended but it was great to see the collection of Jags in one place. My Jag as ever peerless in this hour an a bit journey.

So I'll savour this Straffe Hendrik later today, along with the rest - time waits for no one - Life is too short to be drinking mass produced ****

A small price to pay for driving something so unique, just recently back from Ireland - 1100 miles and pretty much exactly 10 thousand miles of ownership driving - chewing up long distance mileage for fun - overtaking pretty much everything is effortless you don't even sweat.

Economy over 1100 miles is around 25, 26 mpg. (Circa 41 gallons)

Need two new front tyres..! Thankfully the rears which are huge are ok.

Let's talk about the roads...

Time for a candid discussion on the state of the roads.

Morning chaps, so I have a very nice Jag XKR-S which is immaculate and the suspension being a RS is firm and most of the suspension components are rather pricey indeed and if anything gets damaged you can be sure councils will sign a waiver removing responsibility, ditto to the tyres.

Driving to work this morning I was thinking what's the point - bone crushing roads everywhere, speed bumps at every village - many of which seem illegal itself. I am not kidding each time I go out I am spending more time looking out at the state of the roads than doing anything, no music nothing. It's not a pleasuring relaxing drive anymore is it. What do others do in this situation. Let's face it the roads aren't getting better and the Globalists want people using push bikes. A Ford Wild track is what you need nowadays.

6146-8000 Cap Gold 1978

People might remember my last purchase, a SBGH022 - at 5 figures it's the most expensive watch I have ever purchased and I have no intention of buying anymore - a few weeks before I purchased that GS I purchased a 6146-8000 - it's a bit crazy how things worked out because the SBGH is related to the earlier watch somewhat, it's just missing the 'special' designator - the third digit on the reference is calling out the accuracy - 4 is a regular hi beat in this instance, not to be scoffed at itself - 5 is a 'special' and if you are feeling particularly affluent you can go the whole hog and get a VFA which will have an 8 and if people don't know how much VFAs sell for grab yourself a strong whiskey.

The reason I purchased this particular 6146 was because it's condition was dead stock, upon receiving it it looks used but very seldom and is indeed in terrific condition - the Paulownia box is worth a sizable sum itself as the one's with the hi beat reference are particularly scarce. The GS buckle is more money, a lot of money for a buckle.

So that's it, these old watches are absolutely amazing - the original strap I am leaving alone and the replacement is in the picture - it's a bit whoa but It's different - croc leather and getting made in Vietnam I gave them the exact measurements of the original band.

Unlike the SBGH022 which is too much for wearing each day, I can see this as something I would use frequently.
