The Bible offers an account of creation and early human history, yet reading Genesis critically, I find it difficult to reconcile with what archaeology has uncovered. particularly regarding cultures that appear to predate the biblical timeline entirely. Göbekli Tepe points to organised, symbolic human society roughly 12,000 years ago, long before Genesis would seem to account for. The Lomekwi 3 site in Kenya pushes the evidence for tool use back even further to approximately 3.3 million years ago.

When I look at the archaeological record and consider how much of early human history remains unknown or poorly understood, I'm left with a sense that our current frameworks religious or scientific may only be capturing part of a much larger picture.

how do you hold belief in the Bible, in God, and in Christ, when the material evidence points to civilisations and human activity far older than scripture appears to address? Is it a matter of interpretation, of separating literal from metaphorical readings, or something else entirely?
