Dad would have been 60 now

It has been 6 years since dad has passed. I had no one to tell that would understand that he just turned 60. I really didn’t expect it to hit me like this.

HUGE branch of fig tree cut off

Hi everyone,
We have a huge beautiful fig tree, one time during the winter there was a huge storm and 1/3 literally cracked off.

Anywhoo back to now, we’re getting the garden done and the gardner cut off one huge and I mean huuge branch. It had soooo many little figs growing on it. My heart is literally broken.

I thought it was a lost case. After day 2 I read that it’s easy to propagate. So I took lots and lots of cuttings I planted about 20 in pots and about 15 in water. Hoping one method works.

Now there’s still a huge branch, with 3 separate thick branches left outside. Can I just plant it in the soil? We’re in the middle of May now. Is it too late for that?

PLEASE HELP!
