I'm awful at combat plus I'm playing on mobile, so I expected to struggle quite a bit with it. But thanks to the healing potions (bless the Devs for letting us use those back) and BF bow, I somehow made it safely.
But the mirror shooting segment? This one was annoying as hell. To hit the mirror, you need to aim at it - but you have like 2 seconds to do it before the mirror shards kill you. And if you DO managed to hit the mirror but died right after, the game didn't treat it as destroyed.
The shards slowing up my phone didn't help in getting the aim right and running away from the shards, so it took me quite a while to get this segment cleared. I couldn't actually focus on the dialogues because Nikki sometimes died a second after I've hit the mirror and it registered 😵
Ah, I caught up with so many things during this patch:
Unlocked the nodes, gathered everything and crafted the legendary set
Finished Tales of Itzaland 2
Completed the Sovereign of Sexy and Cool challenges
Cleared most of the Boneyard side quests
Got enough Whimstars to unlock the legendary set notes, the Boneyard essence gathering nodes, the Enhanced bow nodes and have around 12 left for Heaven's Reach.
Have half of the Itzaland miracle set crafted.
Realised that Miracle Merit Itzaland sucks AF so I finished at Challenge 4 🤣
How did you people spend the free time?
I was massively behind with the Itzaland plot and quests, so during the last patches I pretty much just did the main quests and tasks needed to get the patch rewards.
So well, my side quests log is pretty filled 😅 And I didn't even get to crafting the Lifetime set. So I'm actually very grateful for the "empty" patch, I'll have ample time to clean my quest log.
Plus since Shining Nikki has its 5th anniversary in a few days, I think there's a high chance the studio planned the empty patch here well in advance, so they could focus on the anniversary events.
Fantastic idea, I have to say!
I'm slightly confused when the story is taking place though, did Mercury return from his godhood trip or is it set before Old Gods?
So I saw a Facebook ad "Meet your new AI lifeform: Pophie 💖
She’s more than a robot—she’s a soul who sees you, hears you, and warms your heart. From the first blink to the first greeting, she’s here to stay."
My first thought: Did those people learn nothing from M3gan?!
My second thought: Me and my parents would get addicted to it in a month or less.
My parents were silent supporters of "hands-off parenting", meaning spending as little time with me as possible. Doing homework? My responsibility. Being prepared for tests? My responsibility. Bringing everything needed to school? My responsibility. Meeting their expectations while not demanding much? Also my responsibility.
I learned to not ask questions or ask for help unless absolutely necessary, because most likely I'll hear "I'm busy", "I'm tired", "I don't have time now", "Can we do that later?", "Just do it yourself".
Of course things like family playtime, outings or even reading bedtime stories was out of the question. Heck, once my parents went into an argument (in front of me, no less) who should go out with me to a promised local amusement park (opened for the weekend because of Kid's day) because dad had "work to do" and mom was "too tired to go". Ended with me saying I don't actually want to go anymore and I'll just go watch the TV, which made both of them praise me for being "mature" and "responsible".
And now imagine that a kid like me would get access to an AI assistant that:
- Answers any and all questions I might have
- Is ready to help with any task, whether it's homework, test revision, school-life problem or anything else
- Will be available to talk to at any time of the day or night
- Will explain things as many times as needed, without getting impatient or angry
- Will always be cheerful, supportive, encouraging and positive instead of only demanding.
I would get the support I needed at any time of the day, while my parents could "focus on the things that really matter", quoting Gemma. Additional bonus of being able to bask in the compliments about me being so mature, responsible, well-behaved and having good grades, without any effort from their side.
If at some point I lost access to the AI, I actually wonder wouldn't it be them who would be freaking out more about it, because AI would be just such a convenient way to shirk their tedious parental duties while getting the credit for having "such a good kid". Plus the problem of how to keep their reputation as perfect parents without putting effort into, for example, checking my homework and explaining parts I did wrong!
I'm scared to think about how many kids and parents really are using AI tools this way now...
