Queen’s Castle

Queen’s Castle

Game my 7 year old has invented and wanted to post.

Rules: Four black pawns are set up in the middle of the board and are surrounded by duplos on each side. In each corner the pawns castle is guarded by the kings and queens.

In each of the cardinal directions, there are two white pawns. Each player controls the pawns on opposite sides of the board (e.g. one player controls the North and South pawns, and the other player controls the East and West pawns). Pawns can move and take in all directions.

The queens and the kings each take 4 hits to defeat, and after each hit the pawn must return to its starting place. Only after all the kings and queens have been defeated, can the white pawns enter the castle to take the black pawns.

The game ends when all the black pawns have been taken! (It’s a cooperative game)

Farkle Chess - A hybrid game my 6 year old and I came up with

My six year old loves Farkle and Chess, so we came up with a way to combine them both. You need to know the rules of both Farkle and Chess to play, but these are the additional rules that weave them together.

Farkle Chess

Each Turn, you roll the Farkle dice (this can be done before or after making your chess move). You can spend 1000 points to reroll a dice, you can reroll as many as you want in this manner.

If you get a Farkle, you must sacrifice a pawn.

If you have no more pawns when you get a Farkle, you lose the game.

You may buy back one piece at any point during your turn by deducting from your Farkle score the following amounts: Pawn - 500 Knight or Bishop - 1000 Rook - 5000 Queen - 8000 King - 10000

In Farkle Chess, your King may be taken, and you get 5 turns to buy it back.

All pieces bought back are placed in their starting positions. If all of their possible starting positions are occupied, you can’t buy them back. Any pawn bought back can go in any unoccupied space one of your pawns can start in.

If you get 20,000 points you can win that way too

My kid would like you all to know that he won the last game.
