Honest question about MCPVP and Dawn Client: Why all the hate?

I saw the official announcement from MCPVP regarding their partnership with Dawn Client (formerly known as Feather). Looking at it from a technical and investment standpoint, this feels like a massive turning point for the scene. We are getting features like launcher-integrated matchmaking, a 25ms ping reduction, and tournaments with a $100,000 prize pool. On top of that, merging Mc Tiers and PvP Tiers is going to simplify everything for everyone.

Then I went on Reddit to see what people were saying, and I found only one post discussing it. But what did I see? Pure negativity in the comments. I honestly don't get why the community is reacting this way.
I've only been following the PvP scene for about a year, so please excuse me if I'm missing some context here. But looking at the actual facts right now, this is how I see it:

Feather had major issues in the past, but they are completely starting fresh under new management with the Dawn rebrand.

Dream, had his past drama with speedrunning, but as far as I know, he has never cheated in major events or actual PvP ranked matches. Plus, what does his YouTube past have to do with a competitive infrastructure?

DrDonut, doesn't seem to have any scandals.

My impression is that after the Dangermario scandal, we've all become way too paranoid. We used to tolerate a completely corrupt and manipulated system, and now we won't accept anything at all. We are attacking a massive upgrade for no real reason.

To be clear, I am not blindly defending Dream, DrDonut, or MCPVP. It’s completely fair to stay cautious and keep them in check. But so far, I don't see any legitimate reasons for the amount of hate in that Reddit thread.
So I'm asking you guys: Are there actual, concrete reasons to boycutt MCPVP and Dawn Client, or is the community just blinded by bitterness and post-Dangermario paranoia?
