Mono symptoms timeline
Hi all,
I was diagnosed with mono on the 7th July. Symptoms from the 29th June - so I’m around 7 weeks in as I went to ER where they diagnosed me
For the first few weeks I had the following
- Fever (lasted 13 days)
- headaches - lasted until the fever ended - and then sporadic ( haven’t had any in the last 3 or so weeks
- night sweats - lasted 3 weeks
- High resting hea
rt
- rate +100bpm. Resting has come down but seems like I have a pots situation still
- body aches - subsided when fever stopped
- fatigue - still have but I’m maybe 80-90% depending on what I’m doing but I’m def not full strength. But I don’t sleep early anymore. It’s more my battery can’t get full
- post nasal drip with some mucus/coughing. No sore throat at all (lasted 1-2 weeks)
- Back ache and some chest pain. Maybe cos my spleen was englaged. Still might be but I haven’t seen a doctor again
- neck seemed sore but no visuale nodes on my actual neck. One node under my jaw seems bigger. Still is the same but no larger than day 1. Doctor hat hospital said it was reactive and not of concerning
- high liver enzymes - ast 210, alt 489 from the 7th July. On the 15th, these were 50 and 155. My crp was 47 (3rd) and reduced to 2 on the 15th
My question is - recently (last two weeks) I’ve developed a mild sore throat maybe 1 -2/ 10 but it’s there and it’s annoying. Im also coughing and and mild phlegm. It doesn’t feel like a cold. When I looked in the mirror the back seems red ( I used my phone light). I’ve never checked it before like that but now I’m obsessed and check every few hours. I also never had a sore throat during the first month. Has anyone has something similar between weeks 5+ and for this long. I’m worried coz I have health and GAD (not medicated), my mind is constantly on my throat and my swallowing .
I also seem to have some sort of post viral POTS coz my heat rate jumps when I stand and seems more reactive. When I sit it’s usually 75 or so but jumps as I walk to over 100-120 from just doing nothing. I used to run 20km a week so that’s another depressing aspect of my life atm
Thanks for responding :)
