Several model 1’s repaired and restored

I’ve been working on several model 1’s for the last few months. I’ve gotten 6 of them back to good working order. Some JVC but mostly Sony. I’ve done everything from a full recap to rebuilding motherboards and CD drives. I’ve used an oscilloscope to check eye patterns and 240p test suite to diagnose any other problems. I haven’t had to change a laser in any of these systems and they all work great. I have changed several IC’s which was usually the problem of the disc not being read properly. All systems have new caps, drive belts, batteries, etc.

Current setup

Finally got everything together. 32 and a 27 inch trinitron and mostly all systems hooked up through component cables

Rebuilt model 1 motherboard troubleshooting

I had to rebuild a model 1 motherboard due to severely damaged traces on the original. After hooking everything up the LEDs might flash for a second then go off. I’m also getting a black screen for some reason. I’ve checked the fuse on the power board and it’s good. So is the CD drive. Also tested the power board and cd drive with a good working motherboard so they’re not the problem. Does anyone know what could be going on?

I did break a leg on the 315-5548 chip but repaired it.
