Dimoo Puppy Toto and Elephant Momo!

I was able to snag an Elephant Momo from TikTok Live when they released him and, because I am obsessed with dogs, I *had* to get Puppy Toto. 😭🥹 I scored him from Mercari — he is one of the limited signed versions! The card is signed, too. His box is a little dog house. How freaking cute is that?!

Ugh I love Dimoo so much. 😩

Self portrait, by Happi

He did a great job on his self portrait today! 🖼️✍️🐕😆

(…I originally wanted to do a full body sketch but I underestimated how fluffy/large he was. 🤣)

Believe it or not, he had his spleen removed 48 hours ago… 😅

We had taken Bear in for some dental work a couple weeks ago — even though I was super nervous about it and almost canceled — and instead left with an appointment for a splenectomy. 😅

He is 14.5 years old, has early stage kidney disease and has been on liver medication for over a year, so we get his blood checked regularly. At his dental, they noticed his blood test showed very subtle anemia and had the vet doublecheck. To be safe, the vet did an ultrasound first to make sure it was all OK before starting the dental.

They found a 3” soft mass on his spleen. He said it was likely benign, but the risk of it rupturing made it dangerous.

The surgery was Thursday and I was an absolute mess. I mean… I didn’t even want to do the dental— let alone remove an entire organ. They said it would take about an hour. I got a call at 3:37 pm that they were starting. After about 40 minutes my phone rang again and I was like… that’s kind of early. 😖 But it really just was that quick and easy. He was already done and had woken up from the anesthesia. What a champ.

We picked him up Friday and he was pretty sleepy because I don’t think he slept well at the vet and hadn’t eaten much. But now he’s eating great (even his kidney kibble) and it’s hard to keep him from playing! During dinner he just kept grabbing lamb chops and setting them by me. It’s killing me not to play with him as much as he probably wants. (We did a very light tug.) He is acting 10 years younger.

The other two pups aren’t helping keep things chill, though. Such instigators. 🤣

Also worth noting— Bear was taking hydrocodone for a bad cough due to his trachea. He was getting half a pill every 8 hours. Since bringing him home, he hasn’t needed any. He had also had a brief fainting episode that we thought was related to his coughing fit, but I really feel like it was connected to the mass.

We are waiting on the results of the lab testing to make sure it’s all clear. The vet didn’t notice anything else when he was in there— liver and everything looked good.

I am SO, SO thankful that the vet took the extra care at his dental in checking to find the mass that wouldn’t have been detected otherwise. If we had left it unattended, I don’t even want to imagine what would’ve happened.

I’m just so relieved and happy to see him smiling like this and wanted to share. Look at that cute face. 🥹🩷

(…He still needs his dental though. 🤦🏻‍♀️)
