Hi,

I'm looking to buy a used Toyota Auris self charging hybrid car. The seller agrees to bring it to Tampere for a test drive and possible assessment by a mechanic / inspection at a workshop.

Do you all have any recommendations on this? Are there any mechanics who offer such services? And Toyota dealers around town? I am new here so don't have much idea.

Also, are there any places where the hybrid battery could be tested?

I’m looking to buy a used Kia car (wagon or mid-size SUV). Daily drive is around 30kms and then maybe a few more on the weekends. The boot should fit a foldable stroller.

I was checking Kia Ceed / Stonic but most on the market have a 1.0 L turbo engine. Is that normal? There are only a few ones with 1.2 or 1.4 L.

Another question is the mileage and model year while choosing. I have a budget of around 10-12k. What is the upper limit on mileage or the limit on model year I should consider? And between manual or DCT, what’s less of a headache down the line?

Would appreciate your advice, especially if you drive a Kia.

Looking to buy my first car in Finland, budget is 5,000–8,000€. I’m leaning toward Toyota (Auris, Yaris, or similar) for reliability, but open to other suggestions if there’s something I’m missing.

Would like something with decent winter reliability and reasonably cheap to maintain.

Based in Tampere, daily commute is 10-20 kms daily. Maybe more on the weekends.

Questions:

1. Any specific year/generation of Toyota cars you’d steer me toward or away from in this price range? What other brands should I consider?

2. What should the upper limit of the mileage / lower limit of model year I should filter?

3. Dealer or nettiauto?

Any recommendations, or “buy this, avoid that” advice appreciated.
